"In 1914, Milo James Thatch is working as a linguist at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. He is preparing for a presentation he has scheduled with the board of directors to seek funding to locate a book called the Shepherd's Journal in Iceland, believing it will lead them to Atlantis. Shortly after four o'clock, he receives notice that the meeting had to been moved to three-thirty. He then immediately receives another notice that the matter is closed due to his supposed no-show.Angered by the deceit, he chases after the board members and manages to catch Fenton Harcourt. Harcourt lays it thick that the museum only funds expeditions based on fact and not folklore, also belittling Milo's skills by saying that he is needed to tend to the boiler during winter. Milo attempts to hand over his letter of resignation, but Harcourt adds that no other institute would fund his expedition, and he would throw his career away just like his grandfather.A disheartened Milo returns home to find Helga Sinclair waiting to bring him to her employer, discovered to be a friend of Milo's grandfather in Preston Whitmore. Whitmore presents a parcel from Milo's grandfather that turns out to be the Shepherd's Journal. After a test by Whitmore on Milo's commitment to finding Atlantis, he reveals that the expedition is all set and ready to go. All that's left if for Milo to fill in for his grandfather to translate the directions from the book.Milo has difficulty getting along with the others of the expedition, some even pulling pranks on him. In the end, they finally let him in during a rest stop. They manage to get him to stop reading the book for a moment, even though there appears to be a page missing. Milo and some others begin to open up about themselves. In the middle of the night, Milo awakens to use the restroom. He accidentally points his flashlight at a lamp housing fireflies that attack. The expedition is dropped into a cavern with Milo seemingly separated from everyone else.When Milo comes to, he finds himself surrounded by strange figures. Upon noticing a scar on his shoulder, one of the figures removes its mask, revealing itself to be a human woman. Milo watches in shock as the woman uses a crystal to completely heal his scar. The figures make off with Milo following until he finds himself looking at Atlantis, alive and thriving. The figures return, and he recognizes them as Atlanteans, able to communicate with them until it is discovered that they can speak other languages since they root back to Atlantean.Though the meeting with the Atlantean King Kashekim Nedakh does not go so smoothly, the woman Milo met, revealed to be Princess Kidagakash Nedakh, leads him on a tour of the city while they get to know one another. Milo's interest in looking for the power source is sidetracked when he discovers that no one in the city can read the Atlantean language or even remember much of their past culture. Kida leads him on a swim where numerous writings are found and Milo begins to understand the true nature of the power source known as the Heart of Atlantis, as it is responsible for keeping the city alive.Upon surfacing, Milo learns of Lyle Rourke's true intentions, having been the one who stole the missing page from the book and leading the rest of the expedition to find the crystal and sell it on the black market. Milo does not join them but is forced to cooperate when Rourke has a gun aimed at Kida. Milo translates the page that the crystal is hidden in the King's Chamber but does not understand the riddle. Rourke figures it out and forces Milo, along with Helga forcing Kida, to descend into the Crystal Chamber to recover it. Milo and Rourke argue about how to bring the crystal down until Kida is called upon by the crystal, and they bond.As Rourke and the expedition prepare to leave with the Heart of Atlantis, Milo makes one last plea to them to reconsider their actions as it would kill the Atlanteans. Rourke punches him, but the majority of the key members of the expedition end up siding with Milo. Milo learns from the dying king that he must also save Kida, for if she remains bonded to the crystal for too long, she will be lost to it forever. King Kashekim passes on his crystal to Milo Thatch as he dies. After a pep talk from Joshua Sweet, Milo leads the others in using Ketaks to stop Rourke.During the battle, Milo and Vinny Santorini act as decoys while Sweet and Audrey Ramirez attempt to free the container holding Kida and the Heart of Atlantis. When Rourke and Helga force them to retreat, Milo crashes his stone fish into the Gyro-Evac and causes it to descend, although Rourke gets it back going by tossing off everything else including Helga. As Rourke and Milo fight, Helga destroys the main balloon using a flare gun, causing Rourke to become enraged. Rourke attacks with an axe, smashing a glass cover. Milo notices energy from the crystal seeping into the glass shards and uses it to cut Rourke, turning him into a crystal. A chance swing by Milo causes Rourke to shatter against the moving propellers.Though Milo and the container avoid the Gyro-Evac crashing upon them, it does result in the volcano awakening. Milo and the others manage to get the Heart of Atlantis back to the city in time to save it and Kida is freed from the crystal. Milo chooses to stay behind to help the Atlanteans rediscover their lost culture and has also fallen in love with Kida. He slips a package to be given to Whitmore on the surface, thanking him for his belief in the Thatches. Now King of Atlantis, Milo constructs the stone effigy of Kida's father to join the other stone effigies of the past kings that orbit the Heart of Atlantis now hovering over the restored city."

He grew up with his rookery brothers and sisters, proving to be more adventurous than most, even going so far as giving riding a horse a try. The two gargoyles that would eventually come to be known as Broadway and Lexington, along with Brooklyn, became fast friends, always causing trouble in one way or another.Until one day, they went a little bit too far, terrorizing a few of the human refugees that had been fleeing from the Vikings that were attacking Castle Wyvern.Goliath, the leader of their clan, punished them by sending them to the Rookery, along with the yet-to-be-named Bronx, where he said that he would deal with them later. The four of them stayed down in the Rookery, knowing nothing of the massacre happening above them until that night, when they reemerged, expecting to face a much harsher judgement from their leader.The sight that met them was nothing short of horrifying: the rest of their clan had been murdered, shattered during the day. Their leader, his mentor, and the four of them were the only ones that remained.Goliath chased after the men who had done this to their clan, to rescue the Princess Katherine. But while he was gone, the Magus of the castle, stricken with grief, cursed the rest of them to sleep ‘until the castle rises above the clouds.”And that was all he remembered…….until 1,000 years later, when the clan awoke once more, with Castle Wyvern sitting above the clouds, just the way the Magus’ spell had said.Now that they were awake again, alive once more, it was time to discover just what this new world had to offer. After taking a trip around their new home, a place called New York City, they decided that they all needed names. The slim, red gargoyle chose the name Brooklyn, and his brothers became Broadway and Lexington. Their companion was Bronx, and their old mentor chose the name Hudson for himself.With names and a renewed lease on life, it’s time to explore this new world of theirs, discovering what delights and dangers it has to offer. There were new friends to find, and a human woman named Elisa Maza became the clan’s first ally in this new place.David Xanatos, a man they had thought was their friend, the man who awoke them from their stone sleep by raising Castle Wyvern above the clouds, turned out to be more of an enemy than anything else.But there’s still a lot to learn, and Brooklyn can’t wait to see what else this world has to offer.

Born to Petros and Alexandra Xanatos, Greek immigrants to the United States, David Xanatos always knew that he was going to be more than the humble fisherman his father was. He studied as hard as he could, when he wasn’t expected to help his father, absorbing as much knowledge as possible.
When it was time for him to go to college, he decided to go to Dartmouth, securing an academic scholarship due to his stellar grades and less-than-stellar financial situation.By the time he was twenty, though, he received an ancient coin from his future / past self, which allowed him to found his company, Xanatos Enterprises, while still in school. He graduated and continued to grow his business, quickly rising through the business world (not without making some enemies, like Halcyon Renard along the way), to become one of the richest men in the world.After he heard about the gargoyles and Castle Wyvern, along with the curse that doomed them to sleep “until the castle rises above the clouds,” Xanatos purchased the ruins, which included the ‘statues’ as well. He paid quite handsomely to move the entirety of the structure, brick by brick, to the Eyrie building in New York. Castle Wyvern was rebuilt on top of his building, ensuring that it was high enough that it would be above at least some cloud cover, fulfilling the wording of the spell.The gargoyles did indeed awaken, and Xanatos was able to convince them that he was their friend. And when he was ‘robbed’ in their presence, convinced them to steal his property back. Of course, in reality, he had them steal from Cyberbiotics, obtaining their information for himself.When his duplicity was discovered, Xanatos was accused and convicted of receiving stolen property, and sentenced to six months for his crimes.But prison is nothing to a man like Xanatos, and he was able to continue his machinations from the inside, at least three steps ahead of everyone. After all, when one plan falls through, he already has at least three others in place, so that his victory is assured, one way or another.

Born to Peter and Diane Maza, Elisa always had a strong sense of right and wrong. She grew up reading Nancy Drew novels, and was fascinated by the idea of reading people and solving mysteries.Her parents both told her stories from their backgrounds, and she grew up hearing about both sides of her heritage. The whole family took a trip to Nigeria, so that Diane could reconnect with her roots. It was a trip Elisa never forgot, and spending that time with her family was very important to her.Elisa decided to attend Columbia university, where she majored in Psychology. The plan had always been to follow the family tradition, to join the NYPD, and she uses her degree in the field, as well as out of it.She rose to the rank of Detective Second Class in the 23rd precinct, working mostly night shifts. It was during one such shift that there was a disturbance at the Eyrie building, owned by billionaire David Xanatos. She was one of the first on the scene, and she was the one who went inside to investigate.It was then that she discovered the gargoyles, seemingly legendary creatures that had come to life, right out of stories and legends. She was so surprised by this discovery that she fell off the top of the building, only to be rescued by the leader of the gargoyles, Goliath.The fact that he saved her, along with the fact that they could talk and reason convinced her that they weren’t some mindless monsters; they were sentient beings, and they needed a friend in this new world of theirs.Which was how Elisa Maza became that friend. Both she and the Gargoyles work to protect the people of the city, and she looks out for them, keeping their secret, making sure that no one can go after them during the day. She never expected her life to take such a turn, but she’s pretty sure the change is for the better.

Goliath was hatched in 938 at Castle Wyvern, Scotland. He was raised in the traditional way, by the whole clan. As he grew up, his mentor was the leader of the clan (who would later be known as Hudson). Goliath was an adept pupil, and eventually became even better than the old clan leader.The leadership of the clan changed hands, and the humans of the castle took to calling the new leader of the clan “Goliath,” after the Biblical giant. He was, after all, the biggest Gargoyle that they had yet seen. Even though some of the humans in the castle didn’t exactly treat the Gargoyles very well (despite the protection they offered), Goliath and his clan protected the castle.Until one fateful day.The Captain of the Guard gave vital information to the leader of the Viking regiment that had been laying siege to Castle Wyvern, hoping to take the castle for its wealth. He told the Viking that he should attack during the day, since the Gargoyles would be in their stone sleep and unable to protect the castle.Goliath and Hudson were the only two Gargoyles that were not at their usual posts when the Vikings attacked. They had gone after the Vikings, in an attempt to stop the threat before it started again, and were caught outside the castle in daylight. The other four Gargoyles who survived the massacre were in the Rookery, sent there earlier that fateful day by way of punishment for their immaturity. Goliath is thankful for their early foolhardiness each day, now that there are seemingly so few Gargoyles left.The Viking leader and the former Captain of the Guard captured the Princess Katharine, Lady of Castle Wyvern, and made off with her, pursued by Goliath, as soon as he had discovered the remains of his clan. He had been saddened and infuriated by the loss of his brothers and sisters, but none more than his mate, his “Angel of the Night.” He followed the Vikings for revenge and ended up saving Princess Katharine in the process.He was, however, denied his revenge. The Captain of the Guard was heartsick and full of remorse over what he had done and grabbed the Viking leader, throwing himself and his adversary off of a cliff to their deaths.While Goliath was gone, the Magus who had been an apprentice to the evil, now-defeated Magus, took up his former master’s book and cursed the five gargoyles to sleep “until the castle rises above the clouds.”Goliath returned with the Princess, and the Magus apologized for what he had done. The page with the counter-spell had been burned, and there was nothing he could do to reverse his pronouncement. So as not to be alone for eternity, Goliath asked that the Magus repeat his spell one more time, that he might sleep with his brothers.Goliath awoke from his stone sleep, some time later (about 1,000 years, to be exact). He had no idea how long he had been sleeping, and neither did any of his brothers, who awoke with him.David Xanatos was there when they awoke, ready to explain how they had awoken. The man tried to get the Gargoyles to do his dirty work for him, and it worked, for a time, until he betrayed them.During one such incident, Detective Elisa Maza was sent to investigate the Eyrie building, on top of which Castle Wyvern had been moved. The dog-like gargoyle (Bronx) scared Elisa, and she fell off of the top of the building. Goliath leapt after her, and saved her life.The two of them struck up an uneasy sort of truce, until Elisa guarded Goliath during the day, when he was vulnerable. Once that had happened, Goliath knew that some humans were different; not all of them were out to betray their allies if it would better their own fortunes.Over the next few months, Elisa pretty much became part of the clan. Goliath, the Gargoyles, and Elisa had to face Xanatos many times, occasionally foiling his plans, occasionally furthering them by foiling them. They’ve had to face many other villains as well, but as long as the clan works together, Goliath believes they’ll make it through.Through all that has happened, Goliath and Elisa have become friends, and now, potentially, something more.

The oldest member of the Wyvern clan was hatched in the rookery deep beneath Wyvern Hill. When he came of age, he quickly rose to be the clan’s leader, and it was he who forged the allegiance with Prince Malcolm that led to the building of Castle Wyvern.Shortly after that allegiance was formed, Hudson’s mate died. Though he grieved for her, he knew he still had a job to do, and he continued to lead the clan as well as he could.Somewhere along the way, he saw the qualities in Goliath that would make him a good leader and appointed the younger gargoyle as his second-in-command. And then, in 984, after being blinded in one eye during a battle with the Archmage, the older gargoyle told Goliath that it was time for him to take the responsibility of leadership. Though Goliath tried to protest, he accepted, as long as the older gargoyle would continue to mentor him, to which he gladly agreed.As the years passed, the Gargoyles continued to protect Castle Wyvern. Until one fateful day in 994 when the Vikings attacked. The humans in the castle managed to defend it until nightfall, when the Gargoyles finally awoke, taking over the defense of their home.Goliath’s mate suggested that he go after the Vikings, scare them away, and he agreed, but decided that only he and his mentor needed to go, to follow the Vikings and scare them off.The two of them followed the hoofprints of the group, or so they thought. By the time they caught up with them, they realized that it was just a group of horses led by one or two servants, which meant that something was happening back at the Castle.They turned around immediately, making haste back to Castle Wyvern as quickly as their legs and any air currents would take them. But as quickly as they traveled, it was close to dawn by the time they could see the castle, and it was clear that something was wrong. There was dark, black smoke rising from the castle, and it was far too quiet. And then dawn was upon them, and the two Gargoyles turned into stone, unable to do anything.By the time night fell once more, Goliath and the older gargoyle finally drew close to the castle, only to find that it had been laid waste to, the castle and inhabitants in ruins. The Gargoyles of Castle Wyvern had been smashed, destroyed in their stone sleep, all of them massacred during the day. All except for the four that Goliath had sent to the rookery the previous night.The gargoyles that were left went after the Vikings, to take their revenge, and to rescue the Princess Katherine and any of the other humans that had been captured.Goliath went off on his own to follow the leader of the Vikings, along with the Captain of the Guard who had betrayed the Clan. The Magus, believing Princess Katherine to be dead, cursed the clan to sleep “until the castle rises above the clouds.” And that was the last thing he remembered, until the clan finally awoke, 1,000 years later, in a place they eventually discovered to be New York City.The older gargoyle took on the name Hudson, and the rest of the clan also chose their own names. And here, in this new world, they’re getting to know the modern day, as well as expanding their protectorate to the entire city of Manhattan. And they’ll do their best to protect it from all threats, within and without.

In 1005, a healthy baby boy was born to Findlaech, High Steward of Moray and his wife Doada, who was herself a daughter of Maol Chalvim II of Scotland. Findlaech and his wife named the child Macbeth. Through his mother, the baby Macbeth was of royal birth, the connection to the throne close enough to cause his cousin, Prince Duncan, alarm. The Prince assumed that, once he had grown up a bit (raised as a proper Scottish boy should be), Macbeth would be a threat to his throne.When Macbeth was fifteen years old, Prince Duncan made the decision to send The Hunter, a man whose name was Gillecomgain, to kill both Findlaech and Macbeth, hoping that by eliminating them, there would no longer be a threat to his crown. What he didn't realize, however, was that by sending someone to kill Macbeth's father, he would eventually cause his own demise at Macbeth's hand.Gillecomgain would have succeeded in killing both the young Macbeth and his father, had the gargoyle Demona not intervened. The Weird Sisters had informed Demona of the Hunter's whereabouts, and she instantly went off to find him, to take her revenge. During the fight with the Hunter, Macbeth and Gruoch (the woman Macbeth would eventually marry) almost fell off the wall of the castle. Demona made a split-second decision to save the teenagers rather than to take her revenge. She saved Macbeth's life, though Gillecomgain had carried out part of his assignment: Findlaech, High Steward of Moray, was dead.The Prince gave the title that should have gone to Macbeth to his would-be assassin, Gillecomgain, figuring that Macbeth was no longer a threat to him. His father had been the popular man, but without Findlaech's support, Macbeth wouldn't amount to much, Duncan thought.The years passed, and Gruoch and Macbeth fell in love. Duncan officially became the crown Prince and father of the newest heir to the throne, Prince Canmore. Macbeth approached Gruoch's father, Bohde, to ask for her hand in marriage. When he discovered that Bohde had promised Gruoch to Gillecomgain, Macbeth was furious, vowing that he and Gruoch would run away together.Bohde pleaded with Macbeth, telling him to look at the situation from a father's point of view: the Prince had ordered him to marry Gruoch to Gillecomgain, and if she and Macbeth ran away together, it would bode ill for all involved.As much as he wanted to follow his heart, Macbeth knew that Bohde was right. He did what he believed was best for the kingdom: Macbeth insisted to Gruoch that he didn't love her so that she would go along with the marriage to Gillecomgain.Duncan saw that, without Gruoch, Macbeth was growing restless, wanting to be able to do things for the kingdom, since he could not marry the woman he loved. He ordered Gillecomgain to kill Macbeth, but the Hunter refused, on the grounds that people would start to wonder about Macbeth's father's mysterious death, and then Macbeth's mysterious death. The two of them would probably be deemed to be connected, and people might end up blaming the Hunter.The Prince has wanted to keep himself out of any sort of implication for his cousin's death, but as his first plan (to have the Hunter kill Macbeth) had failed, he went right to Macbeth and told him exactly who had killed his father, hoping that his cousin's wrath would spur him to attack the Hunter and be killed instead.However, the Weird Sisters arranged for Demona and Macbeth to fight Gillecomgain together, which resulted in Macbeth killing the Hunter and saving Demona's life.Now that Gilcomgain, the original Hunter, was dead, Duncan reluctantly awarded Stewardship of Moray to Macbeth, who was also free to marry Gruoch. They had a son, whom they named Luach, and Duncan continued to be threatened by Macbeth's existence. Even after Macbeth saved him from falling to his death when the two of them were out walking with their sons. On their walk, the two of them came across the sleeping forms of several Gargoyles. Duncan wanted to destroy them, but Macbeth stopped him, remembering how Demona had once saved his life.And then, they encountered the three Weird Sisters, and the women delivered a prophecy much like the one delivered in Shakespeare's Scottish Play. The Weird Sisters greeted Duncan as the King of Scotland and father of the King thereafter, but they greeted Macbeth the same way. Macbeth protested, telling the Weird Sisters respectfully that they were but half right, that Duncan was the king, and he was merely the King's cousin.The Weird Sisters insisted that Macbeth would eventually be the High King of Scotland, though Macbeth continued to protest. He attempted to reassure Duncan that he had no desire to take the throne, but Duncan was not convinced. The prophecy convinced Duncan that Macbeth had been plotting to take the throne and was still plotting against him, hoping to have the aid of the Gargoyles. Instead of waiting for Macbeth to move against him, Duncan chose to act first. He destroyed all but four of the Gargoyles that he and Macbeth had found on their outing during the night.Macbeth met Demona near a bog, grieving for the loss of her clan. He begged his old ally for help, but she was just that: old. She was unable to give him the help he sought. Until the three Weird Sisters reappeared. To Demona, they appeared as three Gargoyles. To Macbeth, the traditional human witches.They convinced Macbeth and Demona that the only way for them to survive and perhaps even beat Duncan was to enter into a pact: Macbeth would give his youth to make Demona younger, and she would help him. The side-effect of that pact was the fact that the two of them were now linked for life; for one of them to die, it had to be at the other's hand. They would also feel each other's pain.Before they sent the two of them off to do battle, the Weird Sisters told Macbeth who had ordered the Hunter to kill Macbeth's father. And it was none other than Duncan. One of the Sisters gave Macbeth a glowing orb, which he accepted, even as the Weird Sister told him it would be useful against his cousin.Macbeth and Duncan built up their forces, fighting for the crown, in Duncan's case, but Macbeth simply wanted to be able to live in peace, which he would not be allowed to do, if Duncan had his way. The two of them eventually met in single combat. Demona ensured that it would remain single combat by carrying off any of Duncan's men who attempted to interfere, to make it a less than fair fight. Macbeth killed his cousin in battle, using the weapon that the Weird Sister had given him, thereby becoming the High King of Scotland. He didn't really consider Duncan's son Canmore to be a threat, so instead of killing him, he banished him to England.For all of the assistance that Demona had given him, Macbeth named her his chief advisor and vowed that the Gargoyles would be protected for as long as he remained the King.The next seventeen years passed peacefully under Macbeth's rule; he was a wise king, and he protected the Gargoyles, as he had promised Demona he would.But Canmore returned, with reinforcements from England, to claim what he saw as his throne. Macbeth's forces held him off for a while, but eventually, the English troops that were helping him proved to be almost too much.Bodhe told Macbeth that his theory was that the English didn't care who ruled Scotland, as long as the Gargoyles were destroyed. He urged his son-in-law to betray Demona, giving the Gargoyles to the English. Macbeth's son Luach was outraged at the very idea of betraying the Gargoyles; they had helped Macbeth keep the peace for seventeen years. It would be a poor display of gratitude to act as Bohde wished. Macbeth told his son that a wise king must consider all options before deciding on a course of action.Demona overheard just enough to believe that Macbeth was going to betray her and her clan and allied herself with Canmore, thus betraying Macbeth.Once again, Macbeth met his opponent in single combat, however; it was Canmore with whom he fought, instead of Duncan. The young son of the late Duncan apparently killed Macbeth, a fact that betrayed the King's link to Demona when she fell as though mortally wounded at the same time as the King. Canmore crowed about how he had killed Macbeth despite the older man's sorcery and chose to head back to the rest of his troops. Before he rejoined his men, he boasted to Gruoch that he had had the rest of Demona's clan destroyed, quite pleased that he was responsible for the extinction of Gargoyles in Scotland.Macbeth's wife and son thought both Demona and the King to be dead. Even as his mother mourned, Luach took up the crown and his father's cause, charging back into battle to fight Canmore and the English.It was a tremendous surprise when Macbeth and Demona both awakened from (seemingly) the dead. Gruoch, of course, was ecstatic that her beloved husband was not dead, but the excitement faded when they realized that, in order for Macbeth's troops to have any sort of chance of winning the battle, he would have to stay "dead." He was already suspected of practicing sorcery, with the whole growing old before his time thing, while the Gargoyle Demona stayed young; to return from the dead would strike fear into even the most devout, bravest of his warriors.This was not what Macbeth wanted to hear from his beloved Gruoch; he wanted to be able to live out the rest of her days with his beloved, but such was not to be. And so, he departed, leaving his wife and son to a fate that only God could know.He left his family, and headed out of his beloved Scotland, to France, where they did not know him. Macbeth spent enough time in Paris to learn fluent French. But, eventually, even the French will start to question things. Yes, all right, five years without visibly aging wasn't really a big deal, but twenty? When the man in question already appeared to be old enough to potentially be a grandfather?Macbeth knew that he would have to move on. And move on he did. He pursued Demona, at first for revenge because of her betrayal, but over the years, the reason for his pursuit changed from revenge to almost a suicide mission. He'd lived for far longer than he should have, and he wanted peace. The only way to achieve such peace was to kill Demona.The two of them ran into each other quite a few times over the centuries, but as of yet, they have still not managed to end their feud. And so, Demona and Macbeth are still at odds, fighting and fighting each other, with no end in sight.Around 1314, after more than three hundred years of wandering, learning new languages, and occasionally encountering Demona, Macbeth made his way back to his beloved Scotland. At the Battle of Bannockburn, he fought alongside Robert the Bruce, helping to reclaim Scotland for the Scots.Many years later, in the time of the great playwright, William Shakespeare, Macbeth found himself in England. He became friends with the famously infamous Shakespeare, though he didn't tell the Bard of his true identity. One of Shakespeare's greatest plays was based on Macbeth's life, though Shakespeare rather distorted events. Rather than being offended by the portrayal, Macbeth was quite amused by the play.When he had decided he had had enough of travelling through Europe, Macbeth chose to get on a boat and head for the New World, before it was even called America.There, during World Wars I and II, he fought on the side of the Allies, helping to defeat the Axis powers and the Nazis in his own small way.Over the years, he has amassed quite a bit of wealth, and he has several houses: one in New York and one in France, at the least.By the 1990s, around the time that Xanatos had Castle Wyvern moved piece by piece from Scotland, Macbeth had taken on the alias of Lennox Macduff. He took on the guise of a medieval scholar, sometimes even teaching about his own life.At the point Xanatos was thinking that the Gargoyles were more trouble than they were worth, Macbeth showed up, offering to take care of the billionaire's pest problem. Macbeth hoped that Demona would attempt to come to the rescue of the clan so that they could finally end things. Such was not to be, however, as Goliath told Macbeth that Demona considered the Manhattan clan to be her enemies. In the ensuing battle, Macbeth's mansion burned, though he himself escaped.When Demona placed a curse upon the whole of New York City, rendering all who watched her broadcast "stone by night," Macbeth was able to fight her, at long last. The Weird Sisters and Goliath, however, convinced the two of them not to kill each other.Macbeth does not remember being under the control of the Weird Sisters. After they intervened to keep Demona and Macbeth from killing each other, the Weird Sisters whisked the two old them off to Avalon, where they forced them to fight on behalf of the Archmage against Goliath and the Avalon clan.Upon awakening, Macbeth found himself in Paris, where he was courted by a young woman called Dominique Destine. It wasn't long before he fell in love, not realizing that she was Demona in her human form.Not long after they had met, Dominique and Macbeth were married. On the evening of their wedding, Dominique revealed herself to be Demona. She and Thailog were working together to, hopefully, gain Macbeth's wealth for themselves, though Thailog wanted them to kill each other so that he could have all of their assets.Goliath, Angela, Elisa, and Bronx helped to thwart Thailog's plan, helping Macbeth. Goliath urged Macbeth to love again, since he now knew it was at least possible. Shortly after the deceitful marriage, Macbeth had it annulled.When King Arthur arrived in New York, looking for Excalibur, Macbeth, too, was hunting for the legendary sword. He had, after all, been High King of Scotland for quite a few years, and he believed that he could be king once more, with Excalibur at his side.Arthur was the one to recover his own sword, and he and Macbeth parted on good terms. Though the legendary Arthur had offered to take Macbeth into his service, Macbeth chose to become his ally instead, having been a king too long to serve under one, even a king so famous as Arthur.Macbeth became an advocate for the Gargoyles, upon their revelation to the world at large, insisting that humans and Gargoyles could live together in peace. He even appeared, under his alias of Lennox Macduff, on the show Nightwatch where he debated quite fiercely for the Gargoyles against Margot Yale.At this point in his life, Macbeth is arguing for the rights of the Gargoyles, though he still tends to stay out of their skirmishes as much as he can. If he feels, however, that he is honor-bound to help one side or the other, he will take up either his sword or his more modern weapons where he sees fit.

Stanley Pines was born to Filbrick and Caryn Pines about 15 minutes after his twin brother, Stanford. They grew up in Glass Shard Beach, New Jersey, and the twins were practically inseparable. The combination of Ford’s brains and Stan’s brawn made for an unstoppable duo, and even though they were bullied, it wasn’t so bad when your best friend was right there with you, looking out for you.As the twins got older, their father made them take boxing lessons, in the hopes of toughening them up, so they wouldn’t be bullied as much. Stan took to boxing a lot more than Ford, using it as an outlet, as well as a means of better protecting his brother.By the time they reached senior year of high school, it became clear that Ford was going to do some amazing things. In fact, the twins were called to the principal’s office, where Stan listened at the door as their parents and Ford were told about West Tech University, one of the best universities in the country, where Ford could nurture his ever-growing intellect and potentially make millions of dollars with his inventions. None of them expected Stanley to amount to anything, and while he was used to hearing that sentiment, especially when compared to Ford, hearing it from his parents hurt more than he would ever admit.Stan tried to talk to his brother about everything, and Ford agreed that if the college admissions people weren’t impressed with his machine, he and Stan would build their boat and go sailing around the world, treasure-hunting, the way they’d talked about when they were younger. But if they were impressed, he was going to go to West Coast Tech.Upset at the thought of losing his brother, his best (and only) friend, Stan slammed his hand down on the table next to Ford’s machine, which caused a grate on the machine to fall off. Stan put it back into place, but since the machine was still working, he figured it wouldn’t be that bad. After all, even though he didn’t like the idea of Ford leaving, he was still proud of his brother and wanted the best for him.But when Ford came home from the meeting with the admissions people, he was unreasonably upset, accusing Stan of sabotaging his future, something that bewildered Stan. Sure, the plate had fallen off, but he’d put it back, and the machine had still been working when he left.He didn’t have time to explain any of that before their father came in, physically picking him up off of the couch, enraged at the thought of all the money that Stan had cost them, since Ford wouldn’t be going to West Coast Tech any longer.Filbrick threw Stan out of the house, disowning him for costing the family potential millions. He told him not to come back until he’d made a fortune, something that stuck in Stan’s head, spawning his determination to make as much money as possible. He’d show everyone that he wasn’t worthless, that they had made a mistake when they’d cut him out of their lives.The next ten years were hard: Stan created a company called StanCo and tried to sell all sorts of items, from a shammy to help clean up stains, easy rip-off bandages, pitchforks, vacuums, just about anything he could think of that would help him get rich quick. But none of the scams or schemes worked, and he ended up being run out of and banned from quite a few states, as well as going to prison in three different countries.Just when he was at rock bottom, he got a postcard from Ford, who was living in Oregon, asking him to come to see him. Stan, thinking that his brother finally wanted to make amends, wanted to repair their relationship, spent the last money he had to make the journey to Oregon, in the hopes of reconnecting with his brother, his best friend.But instead of the two of them picking up where they left off, making up for lost time, friends once more, they ended up fighting. Stan was upset that Ford had only wanted him to come see him so he could send him away again, and their fight resulted in Ford being pushed through the portal he’d created, which then ran out of fuel, trapping him in another dimension.Stan tried to figure out a way to bring him back, but it was going to take more than a few sleepless nights. He did eventually have to go into town for food, and the townspeople mistook him for his brother. Stan ran with it, introducing himself as Stanford. When the townspeople suggested that they’d pay good money to see what experiments Ford had been getting up to in his cabin in the woods, Stan decided 'why not?,' charging them to show them around what would eventually come to be known as the Mystery Shack.Stan knew he had to do something to pay Ford’s mortgage, so he could stay in his house and keep working to bring him back, so he kept creating faux-paranormal attractions. Coupled with his wit and jokes, the Mystery Shack became a well-known tourist spot along the Oregon coast. Mr. Mystery by day, by night, Stan kept working to bring the real Stanford back. He faked his own death and fully stepped into Ford’s shoes, to make sure that his previous less-than-legal endeavors wouldn’t come back to bite him.Of course, he came up with quite a few questionable business practices after taking on Ford’s name, but since they were in the service of bringing his twin back, they were something of a necessary evil. For the most part. Some of them were to buck authority, but that’s beside the point.When his nephew and niece-in-law wanted their kids to get some fresh air and new experiences, they sent Dipper and Mabel to stay with Stan (thinking he was his twin brother, Stanford) for the summer. Known to them as their Grunkle Stan, he was only too happy to welcome the kids to the Mystery Shack. They sometimes help out with events or attractions, but for the most part, they’re allowed to explore and have new experiences.Stan got pretty close to the kids over the summer, enough so that he would do pretty much anything to protect them, to make sure they’re safe and happy.Quite a few shenanigans happened over the summer, but after Dipper discovered Ford’s third journal, and once Stan discovered that a local ‘psychic’ child had somehow obtained the other, with all three journals, he was able to work on bringing Ford back in earnest.He was eventually able to succeed in his mission to activate the portal, which garnered interest from the US government. But with some help from Ford and the kids, they were able to keep the Mystery Shack and its secrets once more.Stan and Ford’s relationship was still a bit strained, but they were figuring out how to be brothers again. But once Ford was back, they had much bigger things to worry about. A demon that had helped Ford build the portal in the first place was trying to make his way out of his own dimension and into theirs.Bill did succeed in invading, causing what the residents of Gravity Falls termed Weirdmageddon. It was localized to Gravity Falls itself, and Bill wanted to be able to take over the whole world. Ford agreed to help him break the barrier around the town, as long as Bill agreed to spare his family.But unbeknownst to Bill, he was actually entering Stan’s mind. Stan had volunteered to pose as Ford, so that Bill would enter his mind, and when he was there, they could use the memory-erasing gun to wipe his mind, and therefore purge Bill from their reality.Their plan worked…., and Stan had no memory of himself or any of his family. He had saved the world, but at what cost?Mabel refused to believe that her Grunkle Stan was gone, and she grabbed the scrapbook she’d been meticulously keeping all summer, determined to remind him of everything he had forgotten, in the hopes that she could jog his memories.And it worked. His more recent memories came back faster, but he’s still getting his long-term memories back as time goes on.Now that the kids are back in California with their parents, Stan and Ford put the Mystery Shack under the management of Stan’s faithful handyman/honorary son Soos, which allowed the twins to finally make their dream of sailing around the world together a reality.

Once upon a time, there was a boy. Was he a monster even then? None can say, for there is no one now living who knew him as he was then. Now, after a lifetime of hardship, tainted by Dark magic as he is, there are few who would not see him as a monster. That's certainly how he sees himself.
But it wasn't always the way. Once, he was just a child called Rumpelstiltskin, the only son of a man who abandoned him with two spinsters. They taught the boy how to spin, how to read, so that he might eventually make something of himself, so that he could be more than his father had been. Though he didn't like to think about it, the boy knew that his father had been the town drunk, the town coward. His guardians made sure that he knew where he came from, so that he could see how much higher he would be able to rise.As the years passed, so did the spinsters, leaving their little cottage, along with all of its contents, to Rumpelstiltskin, who was now a young man. He raised the sheep they'd left, making his livelihood from what he was able to spin and sell. Eventually, he met and fell in love with a young woman, Milah, whom he married.They were happy for a time, but like all good things in the young man's life, it wasn't destined to last. When the Ogre War came, Rumpelstiltskin was summoned to the front, a fact which excited him. Here was his chance to finally prove to everyone, himself included, that he could be more than the shadow his father had left hanging over his head. He would go to the front, he would fight, and he would return victorious. No one would ever call him the son of a coward again.But one fateful day, he was ordered to guard a mysterious container, one that had a cloth thrown over it. He'd been told not to look under it, under any circumstances, but the man's curiosity got the better of him, especially when he heard a child's voice from beneath the cover. The 'dangerous creature' in the cage was a girl, a Seer, that the soldiers intended to use to help them win the war. She told Rumpelstiltskin that his wife was with child, and that his actions on the battlefield would leave his son fatherless.Little did he know that she was right.At the time, he took her words to mean that he would die in battle. And so, to prevent that, to ensure that he would be present in his son's life, Rumpelstiltskin lamed himself, so that he wouldn't be able to ride out with the rest of the troops.By the time he managed to limp home, Milah had given birth to a healthy baby, a boy she had named Baelfire. For Rumpelstiltskin, it was love at first sight. He loved Milah, yes, but he would do anything for his boy. There's nothing quite like a father's love for his child, after all.It was at that point that things between husband and wife started to deteriorate. Milah started spending more time at the tavern, while Rumpelstiltskin spun and took care of Bae. There was a point at which Milah didn't come home at all, and the spinner went to look for her. He found her, as he usually did, in the tavern. When he asked her to come home, she taunted him, at least until Bae found his way inside.The three of them headed back to the cottage, where both mother and father tucked Bae away into bed. Rumpelstiltskin and Milah talked, the first real talk they'd had in quite some time, about their situation. Milah asked to leave the village, to start somewhere else, but Rumpelstiltskin knew how difficult that would be for them. They were peasants; they didn't have large sums of money hidden away. How would they live, somewhere else? WHERE would they live? In this village, despite the fact that his reputation was hanging over their heads, they had land, a place that they could call their own.Milah agreed to try again, for Bae's sake, but when Rumpelstiltskin awoke in the morning, she was gone. One of the villagers told him that she'd been stolen by pirates, and after making sure that Bae was in good hands, the spinner made his way to the dock, to try to find his wife.The pirates on board the ship taunted the cripple, but none moreso than their Captain, a man called Killian Jones. If he wanted Milah back, the Captain told him, he would have to fight for her. Rumpelstiltskin knew that if he fought the pirate, he would die, leaving Bae an orphan. And so he begged instead, but when the pirate wouldn't relent....., he returned home without Milah, to tell their son that his mother was dead. For in his eyes, she was. She had been taken by pirates, who weren't known for their kindness, after all.Rumpelstiltskin did his best to raise Bae on his own, teaching him what he knew. He made sure the boy could read, and he tried to ensure that he was able to have at least something of a childhood, though Bae insisted upon helping with the spinning as much as he could.As Bae was growing up, another Ogre War broke out, only this time, the majority of the soldiers were children. The Duke of the Front had decreed that any child who turned fourteen would be conscripted into the army, to fight against the ogres. The soldiers came through their village, rounding up those deemed old enough to fight, only several days before Bae's fourteenth birthday.Rumpelstiltskin had been on the frontlines; he knew what it was like, and he was determined that Bae wouldn't have to fight. If he fought, he would die; that was what happened when children were sent to fight in a war. Even though Baelfire insisted that he could fight, they started off, with Rumpelstiltskin determined that they should put as much distance between themselves and the village as they could.As they were walking, they came across an old beggar, asking for alms. The spinner didn't have much to begin with, but he gave the man what he could spare. They hadn't gone very far after that before the soldiers that had been in the village overtook them. The commander suggested that he might overlook Bae when his birthday came if Rumpelstiltskin showed him fealty, before he forced the spinner to kiss his boot. He then proceeded to knock him down, riding off with no intention of honouring his word.Bae and the beggar helped Rumpelstiltskin to his feet, and they made their way back to the cottage. The spinner insisted that Bae get some sleep, while he gave the beggar some food. Rumpelstiltskin tried to explain why he'd tried to have Bae run away, that he would do literally anything for his boy, and the beggar proposed a solution. The Duke of the Front possessed a dagger which enabled him to control the Dark One. If Rumpelstiltskin were to possess the dagger instead, he could command the Dark One to do his bidding. Or.....he could command the power himself.Rumpelstiltskin knew that it was the only way to save Bae, and he set about planning to steal the dagger. They set the Duke's castle on fire, and Rumpelstiltskin managed to get his hands on the dagger, the object that would enable him to save his son. He told Bae to wait for him at home, and as soon as the boy had gone, he summoned Zoso, the Dark One, to him.Zoso asked what he would have him do, and Rumpelstiltskin did as the beggar had suggested, stabbing the Dark One in the heart with the creature's own dagger. As he lay dying, the strange colour that had covered him from head to toe vanished, leaving only an old man in its place, the very same old beggar who had encouraged Rumpelstiltskin to steal the dagger in the first place.It was at that point, with Zoso dying, as Rumpelstiltskin watched his own name appear on the dagger, that he began to understand that, yes, he had the power of the Dark One.....because he WAS the Dark One.He didn't have to be afraid any longer; now, people would fear HIM.Rumpelstiltskin single-handedly ended the Ogre War, leading all the children of the village home. He intended to turn the Dark One's magic towards good, to put it to use to help people.But as the weeks wore on, he gained a different sort of reputation in the village, something that influenced Bae more than it did Rumpelstiltskin. For the spinner, for the first time in his life, he wasn't afraid. He could do what he wanted, regardless of what others thought, and he fully intended to do just that. Rumpelstiltskin had taken on the power to save his son, and he would do anything to make Bae happy.And when Bae suggested they journey to a new land, Rumpelstiltskin agreed, because he saw how much his son wanted a fresh start. What he didn't know, however, was that Bae had obtained a magic bean from the Blue Fairy, a magic bean that opened a portal, not only to another land, but to an entirely different realm.When Bae tried to jump into the portal that had been created, Rumpelstiltskin grabbed hold of him, clinging to a tree to stop them from being sucked into it. And then, in one of the moments that he would regret for the rest of his life, Rumpelstiltskin let go, hearing Bae's cries of 'coward' ringing in his ears.As soon as he realized what he'd done, Rumpelstiltskin tried to get the portal back, tried to do anything and everything he could to get to his son. He even summoned the Rheul Ghorm, demanding that she help him. She refused, but her words led Rumpelstiltskin to believe that there was a way to get to the land where Bae had been sent, but it would require a powerful curse. He vowed, then and there, that he would do everything in his power to get to this other realm, no matter what it took.And from then on, the deals that he made, the magic he devised, all of it was working, in some small way, towards finding Bae.He took a few students along the way, teaching them the ways of magic, always keeping an eye out for just the right student to be able to cast his curse. Rumpelstiltskin taught Cora, the woman who would be known as the Queen of Hearts and, as he later learned, the mother of the woman he needed.Regina became one of his best students, but she wasn't nearly as broken as he needed her to be able to ensure that she could cast his curse. To that end, he manipulated the circumstances around her, making sure that she would do everything she could to learn how to properly wield the magic, that in the end, SHE would be the one to want to cast it.And in the middle of all his machinations, there was something he HADN'T expected. Yet another Ogre War had broken out, this time in the kingdom of Avonlea. Sir Maurice called upon Rumpelstiltskin, desperate to save his kingdom. The Dark One agreed, but for a price: the man's daughter, Belle.Belle's fiance protested, stating that she was already engaged. That didn't matter to Rumpelstiltskin; he wanted a caretaker, not love. Belle asked for his word that her people, her family would be safe. Rumpelstiltskin gave his word, and in return, Belle gave hers.With the deal struck, they returned to the Dark Castle. In order to instill a healthy fear of the Dark One into the girl, Rumpelstiltskin locked her in the dungeon. He let her stew for a little while, and upon letting her out, he had her go about making tea.While she worked on that, he told her what he expected of her, though one of his instructions horrified her so much that she dropped the teacup she'd been holding. He told her that it had been a quip, that it hadn't been serious, and the two of them started to figure out their footing around the other.As time wore on, though, Rumpelstiltskin found his little maid working herself more firmly into his life and, as he spent more TIME with her, into his heart. When he realized that he cared for the young woman, Rumpelstiltskin decided to send her into the village, to get straw for him to spin into gold. He fully expected that he'd never see her again, that he was, essentially, releasing her from her oath.But when she returned, he could barely contain his excitement, though he managed to keep it from her by appearing to spin, as calmly as he usually did. She reminded him that he'd promised her a story, had promised to tell her of his son when she returned. He told her that he'd lost him, but with her sitting so close, he had to ask her, had to KNOW why she'd come back.She admitted that she hadn't intended to, and that was when she kissed him.It had been so long since anyone had touched him without recoiling, and he was so completely in love with Belle that he didn't initially realize what was happening, that the Dark Curse over him was breaking until Belle said that it was working. And it was at that point that he knew that Belle didn't actually care for him; she was just trying to slay the beast, to be the hero.More heartbroken and betrayed than he would EVER admit to, Rumpelstiltskin threw Belle back into the dungeon before heading back into the Great Hall. He destroyed the doors of one of his cabinets before turning his attention to the tea set that had become a favourite of the two while Belle had been there, savagely smashing several cups before he picked up the one that Belle had chipped.But even as hurt and angry as he was, he couldn't bring himself to destroy it.After he had himself more under control, he went back to the dungeon, telling Belle to go, that he didn't want her in the Castle anymore. She started off, but before she left, she told that he could have been happy. Rumpelstiltskin sneered at Belle, telling her that his power meant more to him than she did. But Belle held her ground, stating that he would regret his decision, that all he would have was an empty heart and a chipped cup.A few weeks later, Regina came to visit. She told Rumpelstiltskin that when Belle had returned home, her fiance had gone missing. Not only that, but her father locked her in a tower, ordering clerics to flay her in order to cleanse her soul from her association with the Dark One. When Rumpelstiltskin seemed hopeful, ready to offer Belle a home, the Queen went on to state that Belle had thrown herself from the tower, that she was dead.Rumpelstiltskin threw Regina out, so that he could mourn Belle. Her words rang true; he regretted exiling her the moment he had, but he had been too stubborn, too full of his own pride to admit that he'd been wrong.His deals from that point on grew more vicious; he was more determined than ever to get back to his son, which meant he needed Regina to cast his curse, and he needed to be somewhere that she'd be able to get to him when she had questions.The Dark One worked to ensure that Snow White and her Prince Charming would end up together; while the curse was part of his plan to get to the realm his son had been sent to, it was their daughter that would be an integral part of freeing them from the curse, so that he would be able to search for Bae.While making a deal with Cinderella, Rumpelstiltskin allowed the woman and her husband to 'capture' him, putting him right where he wanted to be. Regina came to him, as he knew she would, and they struck a deal: he would tell her what she needed to know in order to enact the curse, and she would ensure that he had comfort in this new land. And that she would do what he said, so long as he said "please." Of course, he wouldn't remember any of it (so she thought), which was one of the reasons he knew she'd agree. All he had to do......was wait.And sure enough, Regina managed to cast the curse, whisking everyone in the Enchanted Forest to a town in another realm, called Storybrooke.There, Rumpelstiltskin became Mr. Gold, owner of Mr. Gold's Pawn Shop, and most of the town besides. He had comfort, power, everything he'd ever wanted......except his son. Belle was dead, there was no bringing her back, but he could still find Bae. Not until the curse was broken, of course.In the meantime, Mr. Gold goes about his business, collecting rent, enjoying the power he has over the residents of Storybrooke, keeping his knowledge carefully to himself. There will be a time and a place to reveal himself, and with the appearance of Emma Swan, well, that grows closer every day.

As an only child, heir of the Blight family, Alador always knew that he was going to have to do what he could to live up to his parents’ expectations. After all, a Blight always holds up their end of a deal. And the deal he had made with his parents was that, as long as he was succeeding and making good grades, he could participate in activities outside of doing schoolwork and helping with the family business.He excelled in school, though it wasn't always easy for him to make friends. However, though he had other acquaintances, he became close with both Darius and Odalia, with the three of them spending a lot of time together.Alador joined the abomination track, the way many Blights before him had, discovering that he had quite an affinity for abomination magic. He and Darius had quite a few classes together, since they were in the same track, and they were very close for much of their time at school.However, when the three of them left school, something happened and Darius and Alador had a falling out, becoming bitter rivals instead of remaining friends. Alador went on to marry Odalia, and the two of them took over Blight Industries, transforming it into a business that offered a variety of abomination-based home security accessories, bringing the Blight name back into the spotlight.He and Odalia had three children: the twins Emira and Edric, and their youngest, Amity. Though Alador loved his children a great deal, he spent a lot of time working, both at his wife's behest and because he tended to get absorbed in projects to the detriment of most other things around him.But as time goes on, it's becoming increasingly clear that he and Odalia have different views, about a lot of things. Alador has begun to realize that he hasn't exactly been the best father, and he wants to change that, while there's still time to mend his relationship with his children, especially now that a lot more is happening in the world around them.

The younger of the Wittebane brothers, Philip had always looked up to his older brother Caleb. And after their parents died of the plague, leaving the two boys orphaned, Caleb took over caring for the young Philip. They didn't have any prospects in London, since their parents were dead, so Caleb decided to use the last of their meagre coin to purchase passage to America.They journeyed to the town of Gravesfield, located in Connecticut, and tried to fit in with the local population. They discovered that the best way to do that was to become witch hunters, as the practice was common among the townsfolk, predating most of the other witch trials that would become much more famous down the line.The two of them worked together, along with the other witch hunters of Gravesfield, to root out anyone who might be a witch, even into adulthood. By that point, Philip believed very strongly in what they were doing, determined to hunt down as many witches as he could.This determination only increased when the two of them encountered an actual witch from the Demon Realm named Evelyn. While Caleb was captivated by her magic, Philip was horrified that his brother could ever even entertain the idea of fraternization with a witch. When Caleb followed Evelyn to the Demon Realm, Philip followed after, to find his brother, to bring him home and bring the witch to justice.He managed to find his way into the Demon Realm through Eclipse Lake, where a bit of Titan's Blood had seeped into, which created a portal between the Human and Demon Realms. The Demon Realm was unlike anything he'd ever seen before, but he was still on the search for his brother, to save him from the witch's clutches.When he finally found Caleb, he discovered that not only had he taken up with the witch, the two of them had been living in sin, and Evelyn was with child. Philip confronted his brother, trying to appeal to his humanity, tried to tell him that he wanted to save his soul. But Caleb was happy in the Demon realm, happier than he had ever been back home.Philip lost his temper, and the brothers fought, which ended when he murdered his older brother. With Caleb dead at his feet, Evelyn attacked Philip with her magic, though he managed to escape.This incident only led Philip to hate the witches of the Boiling Isles even more, especially when they started to mock him for his humanity. He began to formulate a plan to rid the demon realm of all witches and demons, so they might never again be able to snare an innocent human in their web of lies. In addition to his desire to save the human realm, he wanted to create a portal so he could return home, to hunt down any witches that might remain there, as well. He knew it would likely take some time, but he was willing to put in the effort if it meant he could save humanity in the process.The best way to beat these witches was to understand them, and Philip began to record his findings in a journal. He studied the world around him, discovering three of the glyphs that were the keys to magic on the isles. Philip began experimenting with the glyphs, creating new and different patterns and recording the results.In an attempt to control the magic directly, he carved the glyphs into his right arm. However, this idea backfired somewhat spectacularly, leaving him in constant pain as his body contorted and shifted when the glyphs attempted to activate. The only way to relieve this pain was to consume the magical essence of palismen.Philip eventually learned about an entity known as the Collector, a being with god-like power that could help him in his plan to end life on the Boiling Isles. It took him some time, but eventually, with the assistance of a young human named Luzura and her aunt Dirtude, he was able to retrieve the artifact he needed to contact the Collector. Luzura also showed him the final glyph he had been missing, which allowed him to further his study and mastery over the magic of the Isles.Dirtrude, in reality a witch named Lilith, punched him in the face, breaking his nose and leaving him scarred. Philip's hatred of witches only increased after this encounter, and he became even more determined to eradicate life in the demon realm.As the years wore on, the Collector and Philip made a deal: the Collector would teach Philip all he needed to know about magic, along with a spell that would drain the magic and life from every being on the Isles, and in exchange, he would free the Collector.But his identity of Philip began to be problematic. He'd been run out of too many places, and he knew it was time to change tactics.Before he did that, though, he was going to need some help. The Collector wasn't exactly tangible, so they couldn't do much to help him physically. He discovered the means of creating grimwalkers: witch-like clones that were based on his brother Caleb. They were to be his right hand, his Golden Guards.Once that issue was taken care of, he took on a new persona called Belos, and in order to fit into the population of the Boiling Isles, had his Golden Guard cut his ears so that they resembled that of the rest of the population instead of being obviously human. He began telling witches that he possessed the ability to talk to the Titan, something no one had claimed before. When witches started to listen to him, he told them that mixing magics was not what the Titan had intended, and that they were perverting his will for them.Now that witches were listening to him, he started preaching about the wonders of choosing a single magic and sticking to it, founding what would be known later as the coven system, implementing the first sigils on the populace. There was some trial and error, with failures being blamed on wild magic, and eventually, the coven system spread across the isles.Now, everyone is preparing for the Day of Unity, when Belos will finally be able to enact his plan.....and return home.

Hunter was taken in by his uncle, Emperor Belos, at a very young age, after wild magic destroyed most of the rest of their family. He had a voracious appetite for knowledge, reading as many books as he was given about magic, about strategy, anything that would help him to become useful to his uncle.Which paid off when he became the new Golden Guard at a very young age. He never did find out what happened to his predecessor, but he was determined to be the absolute best he could be. After all, he didn’t want to disappoint Belos; that was never a good thing to do.He followed Belos’ orders almost without question, only stepping out of line to try to help his uncle with various problems he had. If he had more knowledge about all kinds of magic, maybe he could figure out something to help!But Belos wanted him to focus on the Day of Unity instead, telling him that the Titan had big plans for him, something that both awed and frightened Hunter, if he was being perfectly honest with himself. How could the Titan have big plans for a powerless half-a-witch like him? But Belos’ word was law, and Hunter knew he could speak to the Titan.Everything changed when he met the human that had been living on the Boiling Isles, a girl about his own age named Luz.She made him start to question the Emperor, start to question just about everything he’d always known. And even though he tried to go back to the way it was, tried to just keep serving the Emperor the best way he knew how, something had changed.That change was only accentuated when a little red bird found its way into his window. The palisman had chosen Hunter as his wielder and friend, the first true friend that Hunter had ever had. And if his uncle was the sort of person who would hurt palisman just for his own gain…., that was definitely something that Hunter had to question.Between Flapjack’s continued friendship and genuine love and Luz’s unflappable belief that he could be something better than just the Golden Guard, coupled with seeing into Belos’ mind and discovering that he’s something called a grimwalker, Hunter fully left Belos’ service.Which meant that he had to figure out how to take care of himself. He’d had some practice at that back in the palace, but he started to discover that most of what he’d known hadn’t been quite the same way that other people went about things.He sided with Luz and her friends against the covens, and they came up with a plan to defeat Belos. But when it looked like they were very likely going to lose, thanks to the Draining Spell, King freed a being called the Collector, which left them with a whole new set of problems.In order to save them, King forced them through the newly-recreated portal door to the human realm, which quickly collapsed in on itself, leaving them trapped.The group of teenagers was taken in by Luz’s mother, Camila, and Hunter did everything he could to make himself useful around the house, very frequently asking for chores to try to make sure he earned his keep, even if that wasn’t necessarily expected of him.As the months went by, they kept trying to figure out a way back to the Demon Realm, though the possibility seemed to dwindle the more time passed.With Flapjack’s help, they found an old map in the abandoned house they sometimes used as a place to hang out during the day, while Camila was at work and Luz was at school. After asking around, one of the employees at a museum helped them figure out that it was a map to Titan’s blood, which could help get them back home.Hunter started to believe he had heard Belos, that he might have even seen him, and he told Luz about the search for Titan’s blood, even though Amity and their friends had wanted to surprise her with it.He and Luz went off on their own, to make sure they got to the Titan’s Blood before Belos did. But the remnants of Belos got into Hunter through a cut on his finger, allowing him to take possession of him.Hunter’s friends tried to get through to him, but the only thing that reached him, that made him fight like hell to gain control over himself once more, was Belos hurting Flapjack. His palisman had been his first true friend, had shown him that love was supposed to be unconditional, and there was no way Belos was going to get away with hurting him or any of his other friends.He fought Belos, but they went into the water and didn’t come up. Belos abandoned Hunter’s body, having found what he wanted, and Camila pulled him out of the water.It seemed like it was too late, like Hunter was gone, but Flapjack, already injured and bleeding deeply from the wounds that Belos had inflicted, transferred his life essence to Hunter, ensuring that his boy would live, even if it was without him.Flapjack’s sacrifice only made Hunter even more determined to defeat Belos, to make sure he couldn’t hurt anyone ever again.The little group journeyed back to the Demon Realm, through the portal the Titan’s Blood had created. They would have to find Belos in order to defeat him, but they had to deal with the Collector first.They were all collected before they could do much, but Hunter and his friends (minus Luz, for some reason) started working to free as many citizens from the Collector as they could.When the Archive building started to collapse, it became clear that there were some other things still going on. The Collector showed up, doing what they could to help keep the building stable so everyone could get to safety.Luz, Eda, King, and Raine defeated Belos, allowing everyone to reunite with their families. Hunter fully expected that no one would be looking for him, since he didn’t really have a family, but Darius Deamonne and Eberwolf, two of the coven heads that had been working against Belos the whole time, came to find him. Darious offered him a place to stay, and Hunter accepted.He started attending Hexside, taking as many classes as he could, even without his own magic, helping to rebuild the Isles in his spare time.By the time he graduated, he had secured an apprenticeship with Dell Clawthorne, so he could learn how to carve palismen, the way he’d always wanted. He helps with the Palistrom trees, too, making sure he knows how to properly care for them, when they’re ready to harvest, etc.And he can’t wait to see what else the future holds.

The only child of Camila and Manny Noceda, Luz had always been a creative child. She expressed her interests in ways that other children and their parents didn’t always understand, but because her own parents encouraged her, Luz leaned into her ‘weirdness.’When she was still fairly young, her father got very sick. The family moved to Gravesfield, Connecticut to be closer to a better hospital for him, but unfortunately, he passed away not long after they moved.His final gift to Luz was the first book of the Good Witch Azura series, which had a very big impact on the young girl. It was a way for her to escape from the harsh realities of the world without her dad, a way to connect with him, and it kickstarted a lifelong love of fantasy in her. It became a hyperfixation, and one of her long-lasting interests. Even if she didn’t have many friends, she had Azura.While Luz and Camila had some trouble adjusting to life with just the two of them, her father’s death did bring her and her mother even closer together. As a way to remember her dad, and a way to connect with her mom, Luz and Camila would pick flowers for each other on the anniversary of Manny’s death, visit his grave, and then spend the rest of the day together.But after Luz got in trouble at school again for a very expressive book report, Camila, under the advice of the school’s guidance counselor, along with the principal, decided that Luz should go to the Reality Check summer camp, to help her ‘learn to see fantasy from reality,” in the hopes that it would help her fit in with the rest of her peers.While Luz was waiting for the bus, a small owl stole the copy of her Good Witch Azura book she’d momentarily thrown in the trash. Luz ran after the bird, determined to get her book back, and ran through a doorway, right into a magical realm, a decision that would drastically change her life.The book thief was working for a woman named Edalyn Clawthorne, the self-proclaimed ‘most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles,” which was apparently a place unlike any Luz had heard or dreamed of. Eda recruited her to retrieve an item that King, Eda’s ‘roommate’ had had taken from him, which was stored in a place that only a human could access.Luz agreed, and once they had retrieved King’s crown of power and fought off Warden Wrath and the other guards of the Conformitorium, freeing other prisoners in the process, she decided that she wanted to stay and become a powerful witch, like Eda. After all, neither of them fit in in their respective worlds, so if she stayed, they could not fit in together.Which was how Luz found herself staying at the Owl House, learning from Eda, bonding with King, and wondering what the heck Hooty actually is, other than a ‘house demon.’She was able to go to the local school, called Hexside School of Magic and Demonics, making good friends (and a few enemies) along the way. Though life in the Boiling Isles is not without its perils, Luz has found a place she fits in for the first time in her life. After discovering glyphs, which allow her to do magic even though she’s human, she’s looking forward to learning even more during her time in the Boiling Isles.

Raine showed an affinity to music from a very young age. It’s one of the reasons their parents settled around the Knee, so they could send them to St. Epiderm, a school that had a reputation for turning out the best students. It wasn’t a cheap school, but with Raine’s talent, they were able to earn a scholarship for themselves, which made things a lot easier.However, after attending the Instructing Future Witches of Tomorrow program several times, they grew increasingly bored with seeing the same faces all the time. St. Epiderm was boring, and they weren’t being challenged at all.But all of that changed when they met Eda Clawthorne at IFWOT. The two of them hit it off right away, and even though Raine didn’t manage to win the scholarship again, they were finally applying themselves, the way their parents and teachers always wanted them to.They transferred to Hexside, where they excelled in their classes, and were able to spend more time with their new friend Eda.Some time after they left school, after Eda had started pushing them away, Raine decided that they were going to join the Bard Coven, and that they should see other people, as much as it pained them. They cared about her a lot, but it was clear to them that they were just…..growing apart. Eda would be okay; she always was.Raine started teaching after they joined the Bard Coven, and it was during that time that they noticed that witches were being forced to join covens against their will. Their hackles had always raised at being forced to do anything, and the thought that people had to join covens, to have the rest of their magic stripped away if they didn’t want that chafed against them.It was at that point they decided that they were going to become the leader of the Bard Coven, rising up through the ranks, and gathering like-minded witches, to help them rebel against Emperor Belos and his Coven System.Everything became that much more dire when Emperor Belos’ plans for the Day of Unity were discovered. Raine and the Bards Against the Throne continued to help wild witches escape, which was how they ran into Eda once more. And it was clear just from spending a little bit of time with her that their feelings for her had not diminished over the years.The two of them worked together to try to take out Darius and Eberwolf, two other Coven Heads, since if they were missing, Belos wouldn’t be able to complete his plan for the Day of Unity. They were even willing to sacrifice themself if it meant the greater good would prevail.However, upon discovering that Eda had kids, Raine stopped their spell. They knew that Eda’s family needed her, and they fought Darius and Eber, to give Eda time to escape. Kikimora joined the two coven heads and sealed Raine until they were needed.It wasn’t long after that that they were awoken and seemingly willingly working with Belos towards the Day of Unity. But each time the Emperor and his allies tried to cloud Raine’s mind with a mind-altering tea, they used their powers to neutralize it, while continuing to play along.Eventually, they reconnected with Eda again, and let her in on the plan that Darius, Eber, and the Covens Against the Throne had come up with: they would use Eda’s curse to disrupt the Day of Unity, and to put a stop to Belos once and for all.Raine didn’t like the plan much, since it put Eda in danger. Not to mention that she would have to have a coven seal in order for the plan to work.But somehow, Belos had known about their plan, and even while the Draining Spell was doing its job, Raine ripped off Eda’s arm that had the seal on it, to keep her curse from simply disintegrating her.And then, the Draining Spell simply stopped. King had awoken the Collector, and now there was a new issue to deal with. Raine was turned into a puppet, just like the other Coven heads. At least until the essence of what used to be Emperor Belos decided to use their body as a vessel.The entire time that Belos possessed them, Raine fought back. They were able to break the Collector’s spell on them, as well as forcing Belos from their body.They fought Belos as hard as they could to keep him from the Titan’s still-beating heart, but they were a second too slow.Eda, Luz, and King found them, wrapped in the cursed life that Belos had brought forth and freed them, allowing them to participate in the final fight against Belos.They witnessed Titan-Luz’s fight to save the Boiling Isles, and they were able to deliver one of the killing blows to the shell of a creature that had once been the self-styled Emperor.After everything that Belos had done, the Isles needed quite a bit of time to recover, and so did Raine. They moved into the Owl House with Eda, and though they still sometimes have nightmares of their time being possessed, life is peaceful, for the most part.They’ve been continuing to help with reconstruction and teaching at Hexside, while Eda is the new Headmaster of the University of Wild Magic, where they also sometimes pop in to help.For now, the Boiling Isles are at peace, and Raine is going to use the time to compose. When they’re not with their newly-formed extensive family, of course.

Only child of Queen Wrathmelior and King Dave Lucitor, Tom grew up relatively pampered. He was a Prince in more than just name, and that came along with both a lot of education and a lot of expectations, some of which have helped to contribute to his issues through the years.Even as he was growing up, he had a very close relationship with his parents, learning to speak Demon from his mother, and Mewman from his father. Tom also seems to have inherited some of Dave’s anger issues, (though they’re both working on them).As a Prince, Tom was expected to attend the annual Silver Bell Ball held in Mewni, as a way for the royals of the neighboring kingdoms to meet and have their children mingle and get to know one another. It was at the Silver Bell Ball that he first met Star Butterfly, and the two of them hit it off right away. They both had a bit of a wild, rebellious streak, and they recognized that in each other.They dated for a while, getting into all sorts of trouble, but Tom’s anger still got the better of him more often than it didn’t, which resulted in Star breaking up with him, and it wasn’t exactly on good terms.Because Star broke up with him over his anger, Tom decided to get a life coach, Brian, to help him out, so that he could win Star back. And he continued to hold a torch for Star, even going so far as travelling to Earth to invite her to the Blood Moon Ball, in the hopes that they’d be bound up in the Blood Moon’s curse. When that didn’t end up happening, thanks to Star’s friend Marco’s interference, Tom completely lost his temper, his flames surrounding him in his fury, even as the rest of the room started to burst into flames as well.When Star froze him as she left, it was pretty clear that she was annoyed with him once more. But he’d genuinely been TRYING to be on his best behavior, even if little things had started to get to him. If Marco hadn’t interfered, it would have gone FINE.And since it hadn’t been entirely his fault that everything had happened this time, he continued to keep an eye on Star, going so far as to send a ‘guidance counselor’ to her school, to see if she and Marco were together.Marco discovered what Tom was up to, taunting Tom in the process, and the Prince of the Underworld absconded with Marco back home, to try to discover the truth. It wasn’t long before Marco admitted that he and Star weren’t together, and that he’d been trying (successfully) to get a rise out of Tom.After challenging Tom to a battle of ping-pong, the two boys started to talk about Star as they played, and Marco helped Tom to see that he wouldn’t be able to get Star to be his girlfriend unless that was what SHE wanted. He admitted what he’d done, and apologized to Star, showing them both (and himself) that he wasn’t so bad in the process.He’s still working on dealing with his anger issues, and there’s part of him that hopes Star will see that, that she’ll give him another chance. But this time, there’s more to it than just that. And especially after seeing Star and Marco together at Song Day, Tom realized that he needed to give Star some space, something he hadn’t done, since he’d been trying to win her back. If she wanted to be friends again, that would be great, but if not, he had to accept that that was her choice.Tom also realized that he needed to work on his anger issues, not so that he could be a better boyfriend, but so that he could be better for himself. He wanted to be a better person, a better prince, and he’s working towards that as much as he can.

He orders Sled to take it to Dewey, the keeper of fairy knowledge. Later on, Lord Milori begins to worry (correctly) that a warm fairy was responsible for bringing the book to the Winter Woods, as the laws state that warm fairies are not allowed to cross over to Winter and Winter fairies are not allowed to cross over to the other seasons. Milori visits Dewey to discuss the matter. He reminds the Keeper of the border law and its importance and commands him to send all warm-season fairies who come into the Winter Woods back.The next day, Lord Milori's pet snowy owl spots Periwinkle crossing the border, and rushes off to inform his master. When Milori reaches the border, Periwinkle is weak, and her wings have shriveled from the heat in the warm climate. Milori informs her that her wings will recover within a few minutes of returning home. At that point, Lord Milori commands Tink and Peri to stay away from each other for their own good. The two fairies reluctantly agree and part ways. Lord Milori then attempts to destroy the snowmaking machine that made it possible for Periwinkle to cross the border for a short period of time.Afterward, Lord Milori finds Periwinkle in the library, and tells her why the border law was created: When Pixie Hollow was young, A warm-season fairy and a Winter Woods fairy met and fell in love. For weeks, they met at the border every sunset, and eventually, one disregarded the danger and decided to try to cross. Unfortunately, the fairy broke a wing, an injury that is impossible to heal. To prevent this tragedy from happening again, Queen Clarion reluctantly created the law.Meanwhile, the ice-making machine gets stuck in the river and goes berserk, throwing off the balance of the seasons. Lord Milori and an army of frost talent fairies journey to the slowly freezing Pixie Hollow, where they begin to frost the Pixie Dust Tree, which will protect it from the harsh winter weather. After the tree is frosted over, Lord Milori sees Queen Clarion shivering, and offers her his cape for warmth.Realizing what winter fairies' frost can do, the border law is abolished; warm fairies are allowed to cross the border, following that they have their wings frosted to preserve them. In the end, Lord Milori is seen alongside Queen Clarion, happily watching the other fairies celebrate the long-awaited unity.

Just when his mother collapsed, a cloaked man arrived who used magic to warp them a safe distance away from the blizzard. The man left Jayce the crystal he'd used for his spell. This encounter shaped young Jayce's desire to learn more about magic and conduct research to harness magic through science later in his life.Being part of House Talis, a family of renowned toolmakers most known for their hammers and the collapsible pocket wrench, most expected Jayce to join their family business. Jayce, however, was determined in his research into science and the Arcane. Eventually, he became a scholar at the Academy in Piltover, where he was favored by the Dean and the Head of the Council, Professor Heimerdinger, and by the Kirammans, who saw his ambition and decided to support him as his patron.Sometime after buying supplies from Benzo's in the Lanes, Jayce returned to his workshop just in time for him to realize that it had been broken into. One of the children inside accidentally dropped one of his many unstable crystals and caused an explosion. This alerted Heimerdinger, the authorities, and the Council of his unauthorized research, and he was put on trial in front of the Council.Despite Heimerdinger's suggestion, Jayce told the Council about his research being for harnessing magic through science, invoking fear among the Council of the dangers of unchecked magic in the hands of those with no innate Arcane talent. Councilor Bolbok moved to have Jayce exiled, after which Jayce's mother stepped forward and pled his case. Heimerdinger allowed it and instead asked the Council for a more lenient punishment—Jayce's expulsion from the Academy. Councilor Kiramman turned her back on Jayce. However, their daughter Caitlyn maintained her belief in him, and he was resigned to the idea that he would have to follow in his father's footsteps after all.To Jayce, his punishment was worse than death, to the point where he contemplated jumping off of his former workshop's building before he was stopped by Viktor, the Dean's assistant, who decided to help him with his research. With Viktor's advice, Jayce realized how he could stabilize the crystals. Racing against time to prove the efficacy of his research the day before his equipment is scheduled to be destroyed, Viktor helped him break into Heimerdinger's laboratory to reclaim his crystals and test their theory.Their attempts with their new calculations caused bright lights and a minor explosion that caught the attention of Heimerdinger and the enforcers. Still, by the time they'd forced their way into the laboratory, the crystal had stabilized, with Jayce, Viktor, and other objects around them floating in the air with the crystal. Though Heimerdinger was impressed, he was still conflicted about embracing it due to the risks it posed, but the ambitious Councilor Medarda arrived and proclaimed that they should bring it to the Council.Jayce eventually earned the support of the other Councilors. Years later, Jayce met the Council's conditions to allow him and Viktor to continue their research—they further stabilized the crystal and created Hexgates that revolutionized trade and transportation for Piltover and the world, putting Piltover on the map as the global shipping lane. He and Viktor hoped to present their latest findings where their stable Hextech Gemstone could be used to power tools to make work easier for their laborers. Though impressed, Heimerdinger advised the two that they needed more time to ensure its safety.For Progress Day, the Council had Jayce give the speech addressing the attendees, an honor usually only done by Heimerdinger. Before the end of the day, a Zaunite stole the Gemstone; in fear of the thief potentially weaponizing it, Jayce suggested to the Council that they shut down all Hextech operations, worrying the Councilors who had business dependent on the gates. Mel then recommended that Jayce be instated as a Council member to serve his goal of safeguarding the Hexgates better and thus all matters dependent on it—a radical suggestion since the Council has traditionally only held seven seats. With Heimerdinger's agreement, the rest of the Council followed, and Jayce became the eighth Councilor.Jayce along with Viktor go to the inside of the Piltovan Hexgate, where he contemplates the blueprints of the structure and realizes how many discrepancies lay inside. Viktor tells him that they should be more worried about the people that need their help instead of politics, but Marcus arrives and Jayce aggressively pushes the man about the corruption in their government and provides a list of suspicious transactions. Marcus tells him that their lead suspect of who stole the gemstone being the Firelights. Jayce sees Viktor coughing over the rails of the Hexgate and asks if he is alright, but is brushed off as Viktor leaves.Jayce later joins Viktor at the lab and learns of the Hexcore. He asks if it is safe, to which Viktor replies “of course not”.Jayce joins Mel at the theater where a musician plays. She warns Jayce that by enforcing more security, he’s made himself the enemy of several merchants and councilors. He tells her that he is reluctant to compromise the safety of the Hexgates for what he views as the other councilors' corruption, but Mel assures him that he would only be doing “favors among friends”, and as a symbol of the future, he should be able to shape his own destiny. A merchant, Amara, arrives and Jayce uses this opportunity to strike a deal with her. He agrees to restore her trading privileges as well as gain further benefits as an enterprise partner in exchange for financial support. One by one, he meets other councilors (except Heimerdinger) and begins to strike deals with them much to Mel’s pleasure.Mel joins the man as he returns home, and commends him for his work at the theater and they talk further about Hextech’s future. Jayce is suddenly kissed by Mel, and they go on to have sex. Jayce learns that Viktor had had an episode of his sickness and leaves Mel to be by Viktor’s side. When the man wakes up, Jayce tells him that he has limited time to live.Jayce appears at Mel’s home and apologizes for his sudden disappearance. He sits down and tells Mel that Viktor was dying, to which Mel asks why he came to her. Jayce says that nothing feels impossible when he’s with her, and Mel confesses that she is an exile from her family. Mel suggests that he should be by Viktor’s side.Later, Viktor shows him the capabilities of the Hexcore and how it brought immense and rapid growth to a plant, potentially signifying that it could cure Viktor. Though, the plant would shrivel up and die soon after. Jayce tries to cheer the man up, and claims that they could make it work somehow. Heimerdinger joins them and watches the demonstration but says they should destroy it, but Jayce stands in his way and claims it is for the council to decide. Viktor decides to go to an old friend, and Jayce gets ready for the council meeting.At the council meeting Heimerdinger argues his side to the council of why the hexcore should be destroyed, but Jayce steps up and claims they should hold Heimerdinger responsible, citing shimmer’s influence on the undercity and the attacks on the city square. Jayce wins the side of the council and by a vote, has Heimerdinger retired.Jayce is working in his family’s blacksmithing forge, where Mel appears and compliments his work. She discusses the displeasure of the shutdown border between the undercity and uppercity, to which Jayce claims that they should be. Mel sees the explosive device “from the firelights” Jayce had received from Marcus, and asks if that is why he is agitated. Jayce adds the fact that he betrayed his mentor, to which Mel consoles him. Jayce tells her that he doesn't know where Viktor nor Caitlyn are, and Mel leaves him in the forge with the promise that she would stall the council so he could continue on working.Jayce gets word from Marcus that Viktor had crossed the shutdown border, and goes to the bridge to talk to him. Viktor is shocked that Jayce was the one who ordered the blockade, to which Jayce asks him why he was down in the undercity. Viktor tells him that he was consoling a friend (Singed), and Jayce retorts that the people from the undercity are dangerous. Viktor reminds him that he himself is from the undercity, and refuses the man's help. Jayce apologies.At the workshop, Viktor inspects the explosive device as Jayce and Mel watch. Jayce thinks they have made a crack in Hextech, and Viktor doesn’t rule out the possibility. Mel suggests that they should have weapons prepared in case they have cracked the technology to Jayce and Viktor’s angered response saying that Hextech is against making weapons. Mel leaves the decision to Jayce, of which he hesitates and wonders if Mel is right. Viktor questions if he is really thinking about making the weapons, which leads to a further strain in their partnership.Jayce goes to his mother's house, hugs her, and tells her that he is afraid that he may have to do something he never thought he had in him.Jayce arrives at the Bridge of Progress with Mel and sees the countless dead bodies of enforcers due to the Ekko vs Jinx fight, and he vomits into the river.Later, Jayce meets with Ambessa Medarda (Mel’s mother) as she is taking a bath. She strongly encourages him to create Hextech weaponry, and he is initially dismissive of her advice because of her different government ideals in Noxus, but she eventually convinces him of the true dangers of the undercity.At the council meeting Jayce presents the explosive Marcus had given him and Vi tells him it was Jinx who made it. He proposes using force against the undercity but the other councillors are unwilling to proceed further with force unless all diplomatic choices are unavailable, to which Vi angrily leaves.Jayce begins creating Hextech weapons at his family’s forge, creating the Mercury Hammer. Vi appears, and offers him a chance to use force against Silco and the undericty’s corruption. Jayce initially threatens to arrest her but Vi convinces him against it, as they both share the goal of wanting to make Silco pay. Together, they go against the council and attack one of Silco’s shimmer manufacturing facilities. Jayce brings enforcers that begin arresting the workers (who are mainly children), when an army of Chemtanks arrive. He and Vi begin fighting them off with the use of the Mercury Hammer and Atlas Gauntlets, when Jayce accidentally blasts a child with his weapon. Seeing the boy’s dead body, Jayce tearfully tells Vi that he will no longer attack. Vi argues that people have been dying and that Jayce was just never there to watch, and Jayce demands that she take off the gauntlets. Vi refuses and claims he would have to fight her, to which Jayce and the enforcers leave.Jayce joins Viktor at the waters of Zaun where the man was about to jump, and the two have a heart-to-heart about their past and how everything has changed. Viktor tells Jayce that he must destroy the Hexcore, to which Jayce initially hesitates as it would be the only thing to save Viktor, but then agrees.By dusk, Jayce meets with Silco and the two discuss diplomatic agreements to stop the fighting between the two cities. Silco wants independence for Zaun, access to the Hexgates, and more, to which Jayce is upset by. But, Jayce makes arrangements of his own and tells Silco that for Zaunite independence, he must hand over Jinx.Jayce holds a meeting at the council and denounces the other councillors. He focuses on his recent unsanctioned, underground activities, but no longer cares what the council thinks of him. Viktor presents the arrangements Jayce had made with Silco much to the council’s shock and outrage, but after more talks, all vote for Zaun’s independence. Suddenly though, Jinx’s rocket crashes into the building.

He tried to lead a revolt across the bridge to Piltover, one that ended in failure and resulted in multiple deaths, including those of Felicia and Connol. Upon seeing their bodies, Vander dropped his gauntlets, symbolically abandoning his fight against Piltover, and took their children Vi and Powder in. At some point after this, Vander and Silco had a falling out, after which Vander tried to drown Silco in a river, only for the latter to slice his arm to escape.Eventually, Vander also came to adopt two other children: Mylo and Claggor, who, alongside Vi and Powder, grew up eager to please and to prove themselves to Vander and everyone else around them.In hopes of establishing some semblance of peace in Zaun for their protection, Vander struck a deal with the Enforcers, mainly their Sheriff, Grayson—he would ensure that Zaunites would not cause trouble in the upper city, and the enforcers will stay out of his business. This news would somehow reach Silco, who despised this decision.One day, Vander’s adoptive children decided to go topside to try to pull off a heist on their own. The attempt caught the attention of the Council and the authorities because it caused an explosion in the Academy district, and the workshop they'd broken into belonged to an influential family. Even Vander's connection to the Enforcers and the leniency of Sheriff Grayson could not protect them, though Grayson at least asked for one culprit to take responsibility so that they could present a culprit to the Council.Vander had to talk the children down, particularly Vi, from making more of a scene. This proved challenging due to the continued pressure on the enforcers from the Council and the children's tendency for trouble. After a conversation with Vi, during which he reminded her of the risks fighting Piltover posed, Vi stole the pneumatic tube capsule from Vander and sent a message to Grayson so she could surrender herself to spare the others. Vander caught on, stopped Vi, and trapped her in Benzo's basement while he turned himself in instead.Before he could be taken to the upper city, they were intercepted by Silco and Deckard who, after killing Grayson and Benzo, dragged Vander to Silco’s Shimmer factory. Silco finally confronted him for their last encounter before he strapped Vander to a chair in preparation for an experiment for Singed. Vi, Claggor, and Mylo then arrived to break him out. Moments away from escaping, multiple explosions caused by Powder rock the cannery, and Vander fights back against Silco's remaining men and the beast before getting stabbed by Silco. Desperate to protect Vi, Vander used the last of his strength to take Shimmer, temporarily turning himself into a monstrous beast. Vander then grabbed Vi and jumped out of the collapsing building, apparently dying from the fall.However, Singed found Vander's body and took it back to his lab, where he began experimenting on him.Vander, now Warwick, has been transformed into a wolf-like beast by Singed. Vander retains little of his humanity as he becomes instinctual, bloodthirsty, and animalistic. He is then released and rampages the prison that Jinx and Sevika are inside, freeing Zaunite prisoners that were arrested unlawfully; one of these prisoners being Isha. Warwick continues the spree, killing any guard and prisoner in his way until finally getting to Jinx, Sevika, Isha, and the Enforcers who were preparing to arrest them. The Enforcers turn their focus to Warwick, attempting and failing to stop him as Jinx haphazardly prepares her weapons. Jinx would tell Sevika to run and get Isha away as she prepares the fight the beast head on.Jinx ends up getting pinned to the wall, Warwick ready to tear her apart until pausing. Flashes of Powder begin to cloud his eyes as he stares at Jinx, remembering the scared little girl he took in as his own daughter. This seemed to calm the beast, as Warwick’s breathing steadied, and as he's calming down, the only thing he says is: "Powder?"Having had parts of his memories retriggered, Warwick made his way into the old mines that Vander and Silco used to work in. As he progressed deeper and deeper into the mines, he began remembering more and more, such as the fact that Powder had a sister and that he was friends with Felicia and Silco.Having teamed up to find Vander, Jinx and Vi (Accompanied by Isha) make their way into these same mines. They eventually come across the old office Vander and Silco used to share. After some brief exploration, Vi would find a letter on the table. Jinx asks what it was, to which Vi answers by saying that it was a message from Vander to Silco. Jinx picks up the letter and begins reading it, revealing that Vander was remorseful over his attempted murder of Silco and that despite how much he tried to convince himself that Silco deserved it, he knew that they were both to blame. He concludes the message with their insignia 'Blisters and Bedrock.'After exploring more of the mines, Vi, Jinx and Isha stop and turn back as they hear the sound of howling come from the distance. They see the substance on the walls begin to light up again. Vi tells them they need to run, but Jinx insists that Warwick is Vander. She tries to shout out to him and calm him down, but his prenotion for Isha's blood makes it impossible. Vi is forced to push Jinx and Isha out of the way and engage Warwick in combat. Jinx and Isha watch in fear, torn between wanting Vi safe and wanting Vander to come back to them. Eventually, after hearing Jinx's pleas, Vi folds and opens her arms for a hug and shouts 'Vander!' as loud as she can.This causes Vander to remember when Felicia revealed that she was pregnant with Vi, over 23 years ago. After Felicia expresses her doubts about her domestic abilities, Vander reassures her that she'll be a great mother. Felicia then goes on to state that she fears that being split between taking care of a child in Zaun and being able to work out how to parent her. She then asks Vander and Silco to continue their mission in uniting the undercity, and Vander and Silco oblige as their insignia 'Blisters and Bedrock' is born. Vander then gives Felicia the name idea of 'Violet' and then the memory ends.In the present, after everything went dark and silent, Jinx clinks open her lighter and uses it as a lantern. She grabs hold of Isha's hand and begins to walk forward, searching for Vi and Warwick. In the distant darkness, she sees Warwick's lamp has changed from red to green, indicating he's calmed down. She eventually gets close enough to see that Vi and Warwick are embracing, as Warwick has remembered Vi. Upon seeing Jinx inch closer, Vi extends a hand to her, inviting her to the hug. She obliges, running up and hugging both of them, soon followed by Isha.Jinx, Vi and Isha bring Warwick to Viktor, who can supposedly heal him. At the gates, they are met with Huck, who politely asks them to surrender their weapons. They all hesitate, but upon looking back at Warwick over her shoulder, Vi is reminded of when Vander gave up his weapons to look after her and Powder, and she reluctantly drops her gauntlets. Upon entering Viktor's sanctuary, they slowly make their way through.The quad then reaches Viktor, who attempts to tap into Vander's psyche, only to be kicked out immediately after by Warwick's psyche. Viktor and Vi discuss terms, with Viktor promising Vi and Jinx that he will do everything he can to help Vander, so long as he is restrained at night to avoid bloodshed.Viktor spends days with Warwick, trying to reach his human psyche. Eventually, after much trial and error, they are able to reach Vander's memories, which all come flowing back at once, such as times when he and Silco were friends, when Felicia was pregnant with Powder, exchanging friendly banter with Benzo, their found family and the times he spent with Vi as he watched her grow up.

Born with a malformed leg and needing a cane to walk, his mobility issues inhibited him from playing with other children. Despite his loneliness, he was incredibly intelligent. He fostered an engineering talent, even creating a working model steamboat that he completes and tests.After placing the boat in a stream to test-run it, the current of the water pulls it downstream faster than Viktor can keep up with it. Demonstrating recklessness even as a child, Viktor chooses to follow the stream down into a dark cave, where he finds it in the hands of Singed, a scientist who is attempting to preserve the life of a mutated Waverider named Rio.Praising Viktor for the quality of his invention, Singed allows Viktor to assist him in caring for Rio, feeding her what appears to be an early, raw variant of Shimmer.After finding Rio contorted in pain and hooked up to a series of machines, Viktor is horrified. Singed claims, "The mutation must survive," but Viktor soon runs away.How Heimerdinger discovers Viktor is unclear. Still, somewhere in his late teens, Heimerdinger encounters him and takes him under his wing, allowing him to study at the University of Piltover. Viktor goes on to become his assistant as Dean of the Academy.While investigating on Heimerdinger's behalf, Viktor first meets Jayce Talis, a fellow scientist whose illegal research is interrupted and exposed by a robbery. Viktor risks stealing Jayce's notebook from Heimerdinger's office and seeks Jayce out to discuss its contents with him. After successfully talking a suicidal Jayce off the edge of his destroyed apartment, Viktor reassures Jayce that hope is not lost.Jayce and Viktor begin working in what is presumably Viktor's office, discovering that the gemstones Jayce acquired can only operate under a much higher frequency. Jayce expresses a desire to explain his discovery to the council, to which Viktor retaliates they have an absence of proof. After realizing his equipment will be destroyed the following day, Jayce is devastated—leading Viktor to suggest breaking into Heimerdinger's lab to retrieve it.Once they arrive at the lab, Viktor and Jayce are caught by Mel Medarda, who, after being convinced by Jayce's speech, allows them one night to impress her by allowing them to stay, while she distracts an oncoming security guard.Years later, Hextech blows up in popularity. Viktor had made a new creation called the Hexcore, which he venerably studies. One night as he studies the Hexcore, Viktor—already looking sickly—collapses at his desk. It is revealed that he is terminally ill, and his prognosis only spurs his drive to continue in his research, dedicating himself to discovering the workings of the arcane.Heimerdinger visits him, and Viktor speaks about his worries that knowledge of his contributions would fade away soon after his death.In a bid to prolong his longevity, he seeks out the doctor, who gives him a vial of a Shimmer variant, which he takes in conjunction with exposure to the Hexcore. His bad leg is healed, and he is able to walk for the first time.Later on Viktor reaches out to the Hexcore, which begins glowing and flashing wildly. Sky walks in on Viktor, and in a desperate attempt to save Viktor's life, pulls him away from the Hexcore. However, she is vaporized and dies in the process.He visits his childhood lookout spot to scatter Sky's ashes in the river. He hesitantly contemplates suicide, but Jayce appears behind him. They talk, and reminisce about the time they spent together at the Distinguished Innovators Competition. Viktor asks Jayce to destroy the Hexcore, to which he eventually agrees.Viktor joins Jayce at the council where he announces Jayce's deal with Silco in making Zaun an independent nation, when Jinx's rocket hits the council building and leaves Viktor gravely injured.Jayce rushes Viktor to their lab in attempt to save his life. Jayce grabs the Hexcore, and fuses it with Viktor's body. This locks Viktor in a magical cocoon that transforms his entire body into an Arcane-altered form. When Viktor awakes, he breaks out of the cocoon and wakes up a sleeping Jayce. Jayce hugs Viktor and grabs him a blanket, when the two get into an argument about the Hexcore—now inside Viktor—and how Jayce had revived him.Viktor goes to Zaun where he sees all of the suffering of its citizens. There, he sees a vision of Sky leading him throughout the streets. Some Shimmer addicts follow him. When Viktor arrives at his destination, the Shimmer addicts threaten him, however Viktor places his hand on Huck's forehead in a flash of purple light, and apparently cures him.Viktor begins to heal any people with the help of Sky's vision, and steadily builds a commune full of the cured people.Later, Viktor uses Salo's body, one of which he cured from a Shimmer addiction and paralyzation, to go to the Hexgates and take some of the modules in the heart of the structure.Viktor meets with Vi, her sister and Vander to try and cure the latter. He uses his powers to explore Vander's mind with Sky, where he eventually uncovers the man's memories.Singed shows up to the commune, where the two talk about Vander's state and body.Later, Jayce kills Viktor with a blast from his transformed Mercury Hammer.Stuck in another cocoon, Viktor relies on the blood Singed gives him to live. He talks with Ambessa Medarda, and agrees to transform any soldier she gives him in return for her help escorting him to the Hexgates. He uses one of his followers—who has now been transformed into mechanical dolls—to enter the council building, where he attempts to persuade Jayce into becoming partners once again. Jayce rejects him, and Viktor begins to fight him. Then, he allows Singed to transform him and his followers.Viktor begins to transform into the Machine Herald. His body elongates and transforms unnaturally, he grows a "third arm" on his back with three claws, and his face splits in two with a mask growing in the middle. He transforms the rest of his followers, along with Vander, causing him to lose all the remains of his humanity and memories, completely turning into Warwick.He travels and arrives with the Noxian army to Piltover, where he is transported in the cocoon. He leaves the cocoon sometime in the battle, and meets Jayce in the heart of the Hexgates. He uses a spell with his third arm to place all of the compartments of the heart back, and begins to fight Jayce as he travels to the top of the tower. Once there, he brings Jayce to the Hexspace along with everyone else in the battlefield. Viktor begins the process of his Glorious Evolution. Ekko comes up on his hoverboard, and uses a wild rune on Viktor.Jayce, freed from the mind control, begins to tell Viktor about how all he wanted was his partner back. Viktor shrinks down in the Hexspace, and the two hug. Viktor sees the barren future Jayce had been sent to and what would come from his actions, along with seeing his alternate self give Jayce the rune that had started it all. Viktor tells Jayce to leave, but Jayce joins Viktor in destroying the rune.The two are absorbed into the rune, and dissipate.

As she later told Catra, "the Horde crash-landed in [her] family's backyard", meaning that Scorpia's family is from the Fright Zone. Her family later made an agreement with the Horde, and their Runestone, the Black Garnet, was given to Hordak who then gave it to Shadow Weaver.However, this is the story she's been told by the Horde; it's quite possible that that is a fabrication designed by the Horde to keep Scorpia in line. In the episode "Light Spinner," it appears the Horde forcibly captured the Scorpion Kingdom and the Black Garnet. Her family is all gone, presumably dead, and she's the only one with the ability to use the Black Garnet, with the exception of Shadow Weaver, who can only make a partial connection. The Horde, specifically Shadow Weaver, has a history of this type of manipulation to control their assets.Scorpia is first introduced in the episode "The Sea Gate". Shadow Weaver has her join Catra on the mission to bring back Adora to keep Catra in line. She and Catra take a Horde ship to Salineas, along with Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio, to apprehend Adora. However, the Sea Gate is blocking their path, which Catra hadn't known about. Scorpia is surprised that Catra didn't know about the Salineas Sea Gate, since it is covered in force captain orientation, which it turns out Catra hadn't attended.Once they get near enough to Salineas, Scorpia fires a laser from the ship's cannon to try to stop She-Ra and destroy the Sea Gate. Bow jumps onto the Horde ship and tries to stop her, so she flings him overboard, then keeps firing the laser at the gate. Sea Hawk sets his ship on fire and steers it towards the Horde ship, so Scorpia jumps overboard with Kyle, Rogelio, and Lonnie before they crash.Later, Catra is trying to figure out what to do next, so Scorpia suggests they try something at the Princess Prom. Catra is shocked by the fact that Scorpia is a princess, then convinces her to accept Frosta's invitation to the Princess Prom so they could capture Glimmer and Bow. Scorpia hadn't been planning on attending, because "no one ever really liked [her] family even before [they] joined the Horde," and she "never really fit with the other princesses" and they didn't like that, but Catra convinces her to go to get revenge on them for that. At Princess Prom, Scorpia plants heat bombs, damaging Frosta's palace, and they succeed with the mission.When Adora and the Princess Alliance infiltrate the Fright Zone to rescue Bow and Glimmer, she runs into Sea Hawk, who pretends to be an inspector so she won't do anything to him. This works until Scorpia remembers she saw him at Princess Prom with "that mermaid", and realizes he must be with the Rebellion. Before she can do anything, however, Entrapta knocks her out of the way, rescuing Sea Hawk.Later, Scorpia watches as Hordak dresses Shadow Weaver down for a failed plan. After that, she is with Catra when Catra discovers Entrapta hiding in the Fright Zone vents, and accompanies Catra when the Catra interrogates Entrapta. When Catra goes to check out a stash of First Ones' tech Entrapta told her about, she tasks Scorpia with keeping an eye on Entrapta, who Catra does not yet trust.Scorpia is chatting with Entrapta while Entrapta works on Emily when Catra returns from getting the First Ones' tech. Scorpia is concerned about Catra, who is a mess from her time at the Crystal Castle, and Catra has to remind her about personal space.While Entrapta explains what she learned from the First Ones' data crystal Catra brought her, Scorpia draws a picture of the three of them holding hands, and dubs them the Super Pal Trio. Entrapta and Catra are unimpressed, and continue discussing Entrapta's findings and what they mean for them. Entrapta reveals that they could use a runestone to "hack the planet", and Scorpia tells her that the Fright Zone has a runestone, the Black Garnet, which originally belonged to her family before they gave it to Hordak, who in turn gave it to Shadow Weaver. Scorpia helps Entrapta hook her machines up to the Black Garnet, when Shadow Weaver enters, furious at Catra for invading her inner sanctum. Hordak informs Shadow Weaver that he gave Entrapta permission to "tinker" with the Black Garnet, which he says is his to take and to give. Enraged, Shadow Weaver uses her magic to freeze Entrapta and Scorpia in place before attacking Catra. Catra defeats her, lifting the spell from Scorpia and Entrapta, and has Scorpia "restrain the sorceress" and take her away. This leaves Entrapta free to continue working on the runestone, and Scorpia later watches as the weather goes crazy thanks to Entrapta's actions.Scorpia is part of the invasion force during The Battle of Bright Moon, and targets Glimmer the majority of the time. After the Horde loses the battle, she is seen retreating with Catra. Afterward, she and Entrapta accompany Catra to meet with Hordak, who at first calls their experiment a failure before Entrapta and Catra convince him that it was something of a success.

He is an ancient Startouch Elf Archmage who was well-respected and loved by humanity, elves, and dragons. Little is known about Aaravos's early life, but what is known is that he was able to master the magic of all six Primal Sources and dark magic, and he possessed the "Key of Aaravos", a magical cube that unlocks a magical book. He also shares a past with the Orphan Queen, who came into possession of his key at some point. He was responsible for the death of the former Sunfire Queen Aditi and claims to have killed her by swallowing her. He also learned about how the battle between the Startouch Elf Laurelion and the Archdragon Shiruakh resulted in the creation of the Nova Blade.Aaravos eventually fathered a daughter named Leola, whom he loved infinitely. He called Leola his "unicorn" since she was born with only one horn. One day, Aaravos confronted the Stern One, the Merciful One, and other Startouch Elves who sentenced Leola to die after they found her guilty for breaking the cosmic order by giving magic to humans. Aaravos's pleas were brushed aside, causing him to harbor a deep vendetta on his people and on Sol Regem, the dragon who reported Leola's actions. As Leola is slowly executed, Aaravos comforted her by telling her to close her eyes and listen only to his voice, assuring her that he loved her. For 100 years, Aaravos wept over Leola's fallen remains and the crater she left behind, creating the Sea of the Castout. The Merciful One consoled Aaravos by telling him that everyone are stardust held together by love for an instant.Being approximately 5000 years old, Aaravos played a significant enough part in history to be mentioned in several history books. After the abandonment of the city of Elarion by other elves, Aaravos aided the city's inhabitants, saving them from extinction. In a poem found in the library of Katolis, it is revealed that he contributed to the rise of dark magic within the city and is glorified as its savior and benefactor, for he was the one who gifted Ziard the relic staff, which housed a disguised Quasar Diamond that he planned as a contingency. He was also present when the elves exiled the human race from Xadia. However, at some point, he became so infamous that others attempted to erase any mention of him. It was eventually revealed that Aaravos was the mastermind of every great crisis in the world, and that he manipulated the choices of every great leader by whispering in their ears while promising to grant them their greatest desires such as offering access to the great mysteries of the universe. Aaravos's favorite instruments and pawns were mages with strong minds and strong hearts who also had an insatiable thirst and fascination with magic. He also secretly manipulated the blind Sol Regem into burying his beloved mate, Aithne Solaire, alive.When Avizandum and his mate Zubeia became the new King and Queen of the Dragons and learned about Aaravos's treachery, thanks to the Orphan Queen, they collaborated with the Archdragons and elves of Xadia to imprison the Archmage in a secret magical prison located in the middle of the Sea of the Castout and within Leola's skeleton. Aaravos's crimes and imprisonment had prompted some Xadians to refer to him as "The Fallen Star". Avizandum was then given an enchanted looking glass to keep a vigilant watch on Aaravos. When no light reflects off the mirror's surface, it would appear like an ordinary, reflective mirror, which ensured that others could not look into the mirror and see or communicate with Aaravos. Avizandum and Zubeia kept the mirror in their lair within the Storm Spire, and it remained closer to where they slept than any of their other possessions. After Viren and Harrow killed Avizandum, Viren ransacked his lair and brought the mirror back to Katolis. Unaware of who Aaravos was or that the mirror trapped him, Viren and Claudia began casting numerous spells on the mirror in attempts to uncover its purpose, at first without success.Despite Aaravos being trapped behind the mirror and erased from history books, he was never completely forgotten. At some point, the Key of Aaravos came into the possession of the royal family of Katolis, and Harrow knew that it was once owned by Aaravos. When Runaan saw the magic mirror, he appeared to immediately recognize its significance and expressed that Viren had indeed found a fate worse than death by discovering the artifact.Aaravos was first discovered inside the magic mirror by Viren during a routine watch, though neither of them were yet able to perceive the other side of the magical prison. After meeting the conditions to see each other, Aaravos initiated a blood ritual that would allow his familiar, a caterpillar-like creature, to appear on Viren's side of the mirror and establish direct communication between the two. Despite never clarifying his goals or intentions, and directly stating that he could not be trusted, Aaravos became Viren's adviser. Over time, he assisted Viren with his magic and expertise, such as helping him fight against the soldiers of Katolis upon being accused of betrayal by empowering his spells, as well as to advice him on every move with his allies, especially Claudia, whom he deemed a useful asset for the future.When Viren was once again freed from Katolis's dungeons to claim the crown once more, following a deal Saleer and Prince Kasef had taken with King Ezran, Aaravos spun his eye in a web, allowing the elf to astral project his whole form for Viren to see. In this state, he accompanied Viren's and Prince Kasef's combined forces to Xadia, where he would explain that he had been imprisoned by Avizandum, though that he had no idea where his prison was located. Eventually arriving at Lux Aurea, the pride of the Sunfire Elves, he instructed Viren to carry his familiar into the city by pretending to surrender himself to its people's judgement. Once successfully infiltrating the city, Aaravos corrupted the Sun staff of Pharos and possessed his body, manifesting before the horrified bystanders, including the reigning Sunfire Queen, Khessa. After mocking the queen for her foolishness to let a human into her court like her great-grandmother Aditi had before her, he whispered what fate had befallen her great-grandmother into her ear, before disintegrating Khessa's body with a spell. He corrupted the Sunforge, the nexus of the Sun, and took the corrupted power of the Primal Source back to Viren and Claudia, who used the corrupted Sun staff to turn their forces into magma soldiers. As a result, the form of his familiar grew significantly.When Viren's forces finally marched upon the Storm Spire's meadows known as "Thunderfall", Aaravos enlightened Viren that the Dragon Prince, Azymondias, could become useful ingredients for his dark magic if he were to make his power his own. Once Viren succeeded in sneaking inside the dragon's lair on top of the spire, following the use of a clone to deceive the allied forces into believing they had him cornered, Aaravos accompanied him to the pinnacle, where he watched Azymondias's essence being drained from his body. While he managed to block off an attack by Rayla the first time, Aaravos's familiar was eventually thrown of the spire's top together with Viren, who would die as a result.Following Viren's demise, Aaravos stayed with Claudia and instructed her on how to revive her father, which would require a lot of awful things to be done. Over two years later, and two days before Viren would be resurrected, Aaravos's familiar spun itself into a cocoon and entered metamorphosis, beginning to change. During this time, the magic mirror was discovered by Callum and moved into his new study upon acquiring the title of Katolis's High Mage.Aaravos's scheme to break out from his prison was discovered by Ibis, who sent a message about it to Zubeia before he succumbed to the wound inflicted on him by Terry. Zubeia created an artificial storm to look into the looking glass, allowing Aaravos to possess Callum and call out the flaws of Team Zym before declaring his inevitable return. Aaravos then proceeded to release Callum from his hold before shattering the looking glass.Aaravos greeted Viren as Claudia searched for the prison in the Sea of the Castout. When Viren decided to turn his back on Aaravos, the Startouch Elf revealed to him that the Being was in fact their child and was the necessary sacrifice needed to make the dark mage's resurrection permanent. However, Viren refused to kill the Being and left, despite Aaravos warning him that he only had a few hours left to live before his life would reach its expiration. Later, the Startouch Elf declares to Viren that his life will end when the sun rises the next day.Aaravos instructed Claudia to sacrifice the Being to ensure Viren could be resurrected permanently. He then manipulated Callum into sleepwalking and grabbing his prison, prompting the young mage to create a decoy prison for Katolis so that the real prison can be brought to the Star Scraper. However, Callum accidentally brought the decoy prison instead, leaving the real prison behind in Katolis. Aaravos then possessed Pharos's body to trick Sol Regem into attacking Katolis instead of aiding Karim's army. He smiled at the destruction he caused and as Viren sacrificed himself to protect the fleeing citizens. As the dying Sol Regem lay in the Valley of the Graves, Aaravos revealed the true nature of Aithne's Solaire's death to the Archdragon. Aaravos laughed when the enraged Sol Regem choked on Pharos's corpse and inadvertently immolated himself. Aaravos then comforted Claudia as she buried Viren in the Valley of the Graves before convincing her to help him break free from his prison. Claudia gathers all the ingredients, including the secret Quasar Diamond in the relic staff, necessary for the spell "Amor Stella Vitae", but she was unsuccessful in casting it due to her lack of love. Aaravos used the story of how he lost Leola to motivate Claudia in using love to successfully cast the spell. After 300 years of imprisonment, Aaravos finally returned to Xadia.In order to fully avenge Leola, Aaravos tricked Claudia into thinking that her father was trapped within the Moon Nexus. He told her about Moon Primal Stones and how it could invert the nexus. He also transformed himself as a human to avoid detection. Aaravos's mortal form was then destroyed by Zubeia and Avizandum, which caused his immortal essence to return to the heavens until his stars align with Xadia again in seven years and nineteen days.

Despite being born deaf, she became a warrior along with Sarai, and was acquainted with King Harrow and Lord Viren. She became an aunt when Sarai gave birth to Amaya's first nephew, Callum, and then to her second nephew, Ezran, after Sarai's marriage to Harrow. Amaya developed a loving and protective relationship with both of them over the years. She also grew up listening to the story of "The King with 1,000 Eyes."When Duren and Katolis were threatened with starvation, King Harrow led an expedition into Xadia to retrieve the heart of a Magma Titan, which was needed for a dark magic ritual to end the famine in Duren and bring fertility to both kingdoms. Amaya participated in the expedition and although it ended with success, she was injured during the fight against the Magma Titan. Due to the burden of transporting the wounded presented, Viren told Harrow that they must be left behind in order to avoid Avizandum, the King of the Dragons. When Harrow refused, unwilling to leave men behind especially since Sarai offered to stay with them, Viren accused Harrow that if Amaya was not related to Sarai, he would have followed his advice.Harrow stood by his decision, and true to Viren's fears, Avizandum arrived and attacked them. Amaya made it past the Border, but during the retreat, Annika, Neha, and Sarai were killed by the Dragon King. It can be deduced Amaya's hatred of Xadians stemmed from that incident.Amaya has since risen to general and leader of Katolis's Standing Battalion and has been entrusted to guard the human side of the Border at the fortress located there. Her second in command, Commander Gren, had become a close friend and a sign language interpreter for her.Amaya rides to the Banther Lodge alongside several soldiers to check on Callum and Ezran when she notices the presence of Rayla. After an intense confrontation, Amaya lets Rayla go with her nephews before secretly sending Corvus to follow them from a distance while she and Gren head to Katolis to stop Viren's coronation. Amaya chastises Viren for attempting to usurp Harrow's throne and decides to put Gren in command of the castle before returning to the Border.Amaya is patrolling the Breach where she encounters and battles a troop of Sunfire Elves led by Janai before escaping. Amaya and Fen choose to check on their Xadian outpost for more potential threats and barely escaped Janai's ambush.Upon reuniting with Gren and learning that Viren was arrested for treason and that Katolis could not send reinforcements, Amaya resorts to destroying the Breach to separate the Human Kingdoms and Xadia permanently. However, Janai managed to cut the cable, which forced Amaya to detonate the explosive barrels herself. Although the feat was successful, Amaya was trapped on the other side of the Border. She chose to rescue Janai from falling to the lava before surrendering to the Sunfire Elves. Amaya was imprisoned in Lux Aurea with Kazi as her interpreter, though she refused to reveal why the Standing Battalion was at the Border. Exasperated, Janai brought Amaya to her sister Queen Khessa, who wished to see the general disposed of. But after Janai divulged their encounter, Khessa ordered Pharos to subject Amaya to "the Light" to reveal her true nature. Amaya's pure heart spared her from execution and she was returned to her cell. Amaya was terrified when she learned that Viren was in Lux Aurea and persuaded Janai to free her to stop the dark mage from inflicting harm. However, Viren was able to corrupt the Sunforge with Aaravos's help and killed Khessa in the process. Amaya was able to stop Janai from committing a suicidal attack on Viren by empathizing with the loss of her sister. Alongside Janai and the surviving Sunfire Elves, Amaya journeyed to the Storm Spire on the Twin-Tailed Inferno-Tooth Tiger Embertail, where she was reunited with her nephews and prepared to protect Zubeia and Azymondias from Viren. Amaya, Janai, and Soren fought side-by-side during the battle and they were about to be overwhelmed when the armies of Duren and Ezran's loyalists arrived to turn the tide of the battle. After the battle was won, Amaya reunited with Gren and Corvus before holding hands with Janai when Zubeia awakened from her slumber and was reunited with Zym.Over the span of half a year, Amaya and Janai became close friends. During winter, Amaya was invited to a spot near the mountains of the Frozen Sea, where Janai told her the story of a seasonal Sunfire Elf tradition meant to honor a brave traveler through a meal called "Crackledrake." While there, the two reestablished how important their friendship was to each other, as Amaya could help Janai to enjoy herself, away from the burdens of life.During these years, Amaya hired the people of Katolis to assist the Sunfire Elves with rebuilding a temporary settlement in the ruins of one of their older cities near Lux Aurea. At some point, she located a rare book called the "Tome of Translation", which she sent to Callum in Katolis.Two years after the battle at the Storm Spire, Janai and the other Sunfire Elves had relocated to a camp that was built over their people's original capital with the aid of humans from Katolis. Amaya became anxious when she Gren accompanied Janai on a secret mission in a nearby forest. However, when it was revealed that Janai took them there to propose, Amaya happily accepted. The humans and the Sunfire Elves congratulate Amaya and Janai for their engagement, and Amaya became more acquainted with her future brother-in-law Prince Karim.[16] Several days later, Amaya was informed about the dispute between Lucia and Yonnis before Janai chose to call a "Tribunal of the Six Horns" since extinguishing a Soul Candle is seen as a terrible crime by the Sunfire Elves. Amaya was unable to defend Lucia and asked for a merciful justice. Although the Six Horns sentenced Lucia to death, Amaya was relieved when Janai decided to spare Lucia's life. Within the next day, Janai took Amaya to an area outside of the camp and talked about running away with her since she felt that she had not been a good queen to the Sunfire Elves. Amaya convinced Janai to resume her duties as the Sunfire Queen and that she would also be happy to be married to her. Amaya and Kazi became witnesses when Karim challenged Janai to a Royal Blood Duel, which resulted in Janai's victory and Karim's banishment.As Janai began to have nightmares about Aaravos killing Khessa, Amaya provided distraction from the trauma by choosing the right type of flower for their wedding. Amaya and Kazi waited for Janai to make her choice when Callum, Rayla, Bait, and Stella arrived to inform their plan of finding a way to defeat Aaravos inside the Great Bookery of Lux Aurea. After Janai forbade Callum's group from venturing into Lux Aurea, Amaya was able to convince her otherwise. Janai gifted her sword to Amaya as protection and allowed her, Gren, and Kazi to accompany Callum's group in their mission. Upon entering the Great Bookery, Amaya and Rayla had a hear-to-heart conversation about love and trust before the setting sun allowed corrupted Banthers to swarm the library. The corrupted Banthers' numbers were about to overwhelm Callum's group when Ezran, Zym, Soren, Corvus, and Zubeia came to their rescue. Amaya and Corvus succeeded in surviving the onslaught of corrupted Banthers by taking shelter inside the book drop of the Great Bookery as Team Zym flew to the Storm Spire. Amaya and Corvus managed to reach the Sunfire Elf camp and reunited with Gren and Kazi before learning about Kim'dael's attack and Janai's abduction. After Pharos delivered Karim's ultimatum to the Six Horns, Amaya opted to rescue Janai herself. Amaya donned Miyana's armor and brought a tied up Pharos back to Karim. The following skirmish resulted in Amaya scarring Karim when he attempted to kill Janai, which in turn allowed the general to reunite with her betrothed. Upon returning to the camp, Amaya was informed that Miyana had defected to Karim's side. In the following night, she hugged the weeping Janai after the latter learned that Aaravos swallowed her great-grandmother Aditi.Following Miyana's betrayal, Amaya calmed the frustrated Janai down by telling her the story of "The King with 1,000 Eyes" so that she would not doubt her subjects' loyalty. Amaya and Janai then agreed to get married as soon as possible. Despite the threat of Karim's army, Amaya and Janai managed to marry each other with Gren and Kazi as the ceremony's officiators. Amaya and Janai succeeded in defeating Karim and his followers and enjoyed their wedding reception before comforting Ezran with a hug after he learned about Sol Regem's attack on Katolis.

After returning Zym to his mother and peace being established between Xadia and the Human Kingdoms, Callum returned to Katolis together with his brother Ezran, Bait, and Rayla. When Rayla was plagued by nightmares, believing Viren to still be alive as his body had not been retrieved, Callum accompanied her to the Moon Nexus as a vacation, where the group planned to revive Phoe-Phoe. Their vacation briefly turned sour when the fresh couple got into an argument about Runaan, who was family lost to Rayla, but was also the person responsible for taking Callum's father. After meeting Allen, Lujanne's new boyfriend, the two assisted Rayla in reconstructing the destroyed Moonhenge to open a portal between life and death. As Rayla faced struggles inside this world, Callum rushed to her help. However, as Viren had appeared to her inside a cocoon, Rayla insisted that Viren must still be alive and, despite promising to look together for him, Callum was left behind by Rayla on his 15th birthday, comforted by only a letter. At a later point, Callum was named the new High Mage of Katolis.
